Everyone Moved To New Hampshire on Voting Day!

How 'bout questions of substance?

Watched the Republican debate moderated by Fox on Thursday the 10th. I was not impressed. Reminded me of some elements that I have encountered during my life, especially in grade school when a small group would try to start fights and cause dissension among the others, and invariably they were successful and managed to harm others. This same small group patted themselves on the back and were proud of their efforts. This is the impression I gained from this debate.

I think it would have been far better if they had told the debaters they couldn’t mention each other and gave them questions of substance for each of them to answer. This would have led to a far greater understanding of their substance, character, and judgment. The questions asked were to deliberately cause dissension to erupt and it succeeded to the detriment of the political process. I have noticed quite a change in the way Fox presents the news. They are not quite as fair and balanced as they were. The analysts brought on to discuss the debate as soon as it was over were two Democrats, Pat Caddell and Kirsten Powers.

Kirsten Powers is on Fox so much, makes me wonder if she is someone’s relative in the Fox News hierarchy. I think they are reaching the point where there are more Democrats in their stable than Republicans. Examples:

and the list goes on and on….

There was a voice for Conservatives, finally, when Fox came on. Up until then we had had no voice to communicate Conservative views. The Conservatives were delighted to have someone blunt the attacks of all the liberal networks on Republicans and Conservatives. That is disappearing and I watch Fox News much less than I used to. The way they bested CNN in audience numbers is not what they are practicing these days. If you’ve noticed, CNN bested Fox on the night of the New Hampshire primary. This is not a sign of good things to come for Fox.

up, up, and away - everyday!

Alan Colmes loved the debate. I guess he could see as I did that the dissension fostered by Fox was one of the best things to help defeat the Republicans in the general election. I would prefer no debates if they are to continue in this manner. Charlie Gibson did a lot better than any others in the way he moderated. They asked questions about energy, but where were the questions on drilling in ANWR, nuclear energy, and using the oil shale in Colorado? Our energy problems will be allowed to continue with ethanol, wind power (but of course not in my backyard,) and solar (will not cut it). The problem is as severe as social security, Medicare, and Medicaid, but as with those programs, this is another third rail that politicians have no desire to touch. I don’t know if this is collusion between the debate moderator and the politicians in these debates that are matters that cannot be discussed.

Nurse Ratchet says RAISE YOUR HANDS

Will the real Nurse Ratchet please raise your hand?

Personally I am very glad that the CIA tapes were destroyed before some renegade CIA Democrat leaked them to the New York Times. I would take great pleasure in finding out who these disloyal CIA agents were that leaked the stories to The Times. The CIA apparently has not been able to arrive at a program that eliminates a possibility of political actions by agents. They even allowed an al-Qaeda mole in their organization. I would say they need to re-investigate all personnel in their employ.

I haven’t seen or heard of any attempt to uncover the persons involved in those security leaks. They are not Democrats like Pockets Berger, so you would think the Democratic Congress wouldn’t object to finding out who they were - or were they Democrats? If only Congress would work on some legislation with all the passion they show in their appearances on TV, expounding on this CIA infraction. If only they would attend to their own infractions in the same manner - wouldn’t it be nice?

I believe there is one Senator named Patrick Leahy who was caught leaking intelligence and had to leave the intelligence committee in 1985. Now he’s called “Leaky Leahy”. Also, now he is head of the Judiciary Committee. I guess he got a slap on the wrist, as he is one of the good ol’ boys.

I watched the exciting Republican debate conducted by that liberal zombie who made it about anything but what the Republicans thought the key issues were of the day - Iraq and illegal immigration. Do you suppose she was a Democrat in any life she might have ever had? I have been watching all the debates and candidates during this election. What I want most to hear is action taken on energy, not empty talk - someone who wants to drill in ANWR, process the oil from the shale out west, and be serious about not sending billions to the Arab oil producing countries to continue our dollar problem. Also, be clear on the English language only in our schools and job market. Whoever asserts these actions firmly will have MY vote.

He planned on being President from kindergarten!

Huckabee says how he was able to out-fox the Clinton machine in Arkansas. I hate to say it, but seems a lot of them rubbed off on Huckabee. Like his statement about the devil and Jesus being brothers in the Mormon religion, and then taking it back and apologizing to Romney after it had already done its damage - how Clintonesque. Same as some Clinton Democrat said about Obama’s drug use as a youth and then apologized to Obama after the DAMAGE has been done. Seems Huckabee learned the Clinton’s dirty tricks! I guess no one paid attention to Huckabee’s born in a cabin statement. At least he didn’t say log cabin. Huckabee is still using his faith to buy votes. I don’t believe the Bible encourages this practice. Way to go PREACHER!

Ole Harry - Goebbels reincarnated

The Democrats prize fool, Stark.

No, Google didn’t shut me down. Just had a case of bursitis. A lot has happened in this short time. The Republican debate given by Fox News professionals was a refreshing change from the Democratic debates by the liberal media. They, apparently, are instructed to only ask softball questions of the liberals, and they are BORING. The only thing the Republican debates need to do is to make Ron Paul get on stage with the Democrats where he belongs. The only time Hillary gets any hits on her is during the Republican debates.

I like the way John McCain brought out her flower power campaign, with the million dollar museum. I also liked the way Mike Huckabee got dead serious when describing his fears of a Hillary Presidency. For someone who loves to joke during these debates, you could tell that the possibility of that was horrendous to him.

Atlanta sacrifices while mussels LIVE!

Another news item of note is what is happening in California, thanks to the Sierra club and the greenies. I hope some endangered species weren’t destroyed in the fires. After all, according to these nuts, any rats, fish, bats, mice, and other animals that are endangered are more important than we humans are. You can see this happening in Atlanta, Georgia where their water is diminishing rapidly, but the Army Corps of Engineers have to release millions of gallons of water downstream for endangered mussels and fish. This happened also in Washington State several years ago when the farmers couldn’t irrigate because of a certain type of minnow. What I wonder is where were the tree-huggers during the fires? If they were still hugging those trees, I would imagine they got rather warm.

Another thing of interest during this time was the Democrats in the Senate trying to shut down a private citizens voice, when the letter they sent to Rush’s boss was given by him to Rush and auctioned off on eBay for $2.1 million for use in higher education and other needs of children of Marines and law enforcement people killed in action. Rush is matching the winning auction bid. Do you think the Democrats will match it? Of course not. However, many of them with their years in the Senate are more than able to do it. There is no doubt they took what he said out of context, on purpose, to try to cover up their condoning of the General Betrayus Ad by their advisory committee, the moveon.org crusade.

Debates are worthless - Give candidates TIME!

Saw the debate of the Republican candidates last night. Afterwards, I was left with a sinking feeling. They were far superior to the Democratic candidates, but none left me with the feeling I want him for my President. The one thing I couldn’t understand was what is Ron Paul, a libertarian, doing in the Republican debate? He got lots of clapping from people in the audience with his anti-war talk. I know that New Hampshire has the motto “Live free or die”, but living free doesn’t mean allowing al-Qaeda to kill us.

If they value freedom so much, they would not shirk from helping another country achieve the same freedoms and be a buffer against terrorism to ensure we continue to live free. That is, of course, their decision because of the freedoms we have fought for throughout history. Compared to how Saddam treated his people, King George (that we rose up against) was a pussy cat. People who have lived in freedom, at times, become complacent and don’t realize what they have. In other words, you never miss what you have until it’s gone. I would think they would at least empathize with others who long for freedom. To me, peoples’ right to live free is almost Biblical.

I have one objection to how these debates are fashioned, especially Chris Wallace’s approach, which is to try to stir up arguments within the candidates ranks, and try to generate hostility. That approach is ineffectual and a waste of time that could have been used for questions that had merit. Starting off the debate with what the candidates thought about Fred Thompson not being there was also a waste of time. One question I would like asked: Would they be concerned about how the rest of the world viewed us in the decisions they make? I would hope they would say it would have NO BEARING on their decisions. In other words, we are a sovereign nation and concern for world opinion should have NOTHING to do with OUR nation’s actions for OUR citizens’ safety and freedoms.

I realize the Democrats constantly worry about what the rest of the world thinks of us. The world’s last super power will never be loved and should not allow that to have a bearing on ANYTHING we feel we should do. I know that Clinton did, but he only cared about himself. He was a beacon to the young people, showing how anyone could be President and have their own intern. See attached:
