Democratic Venom - Their Poison is Strong, but Character Weak!
I would like to point out some facts that belie the statements made by Obama about the Republicans’ dirty tricks: In Reagan’s first term, the Democrats tried to use his age. They found out he was not too old as he brought back the country’s pride and world respect, also rebuilt our military. His second term run, the Democrats accused Raymond Donova, one of Reagan’s cabinet members, of crimes. He was cleared and asked “Who will give me back my reputation?” On Bush 41’s second term run, Ross Perot was the spoiler and the Clintons’ campaign lied about the economy, which was strengthening quite strongly at the time. Had Ross Perot not run, Clinton would never have become President. Also, the strides made during Clinton’s administration were a result of the Republican Congress. He helped to cause our energy problems of today with his veto of ANWR drilling passed by the Republicans.
Bush 43’s first run, the weekend before the election, the Democrats put out his DUI and the liberal media made a big hullabaloo about it, even though it was when he was much younger. His second term, Dan Rather put out some forged documents to slander Bush. The Republicans cannot help the fact that Obama is black, as he says he is, nor can they change his associates for twenty years. The question is: What dirty tricks wilil the Democrats use on McCain?

This country was formed on the backs of American individuals with the freedoms they were given, and in response to that built a country with success that is the envy of the world and other countries aspire to. Frankly, I am not ashamed of living in a country that the rest of the world envies and I will never want to placate those socialistic countries as Obama seems to want to do. I don’t want this country to become a member of the European Union. I still want to live in a country that the world turns to when they need help - not someone who will use the fiddle of socialism to play as Nero did while Rome burned. In other words, Obama WILL destroy this country of guts and glory.
Something new… Republicans for Obama… one of them is ex-Congressman Jim Leach from Iowa. I wonder if this has something to do with McCain being against massive taxes from the American people being used to subsidize farmers to raise corn for ethanol that is raising the price of fuel for every American and inflating the cost of food to harm the rest of the American citizens. Instead, McCain wants to get our ethanol from Brazil, which is a lot cheaper and is made from sugar cane, which does not raise the price of food on meat, dairy, bread, and all the staffs of life.

For axis of evil, I would like to nominate Mike Nifong, Patrick Fitzgerald, and Johnny Sutton. To me they are the embodiment of government gone mad. Instances of government failures is the power given to environmentalists and ensuring that we can’t attain energy independence by drilling in ANWR, the continental shelf, and building new refineries and nuclear power plants. Years down the road, if an energy crisis occurs, the Democrats will blame the Republicans, and the role of the environmentalists will be forgotten. It’s the same with the massive wild fires this year - the environmentalists haven’t received any blame.
I may have my facts wrong, but I understand that Johnny Sutton appeared before the Senate, giving testimony without having to be under oath. That he also gave immunity to a drug dealer who tried to bring 749 pounds of drugs into the country, just to have him give honest testimony in Sutton’s case against the two border agents, is utter nonsense.
The macho ole Harry is having a slumber party tonight. Hopefully we will get to see Robert Byrd entertaining everyone as he has since the Civil Rights Bill of 1964. Too bad Everett Dirksen wasn’t still here and we could hear a voice worthy of a Senator, and not the inane whining that you hear from the Democrats. I have been impressed by the Democrats pursuit of passing laws to protect and enable the American public to have a better life. Let’s see now - the House has had a very impressive period. They have had investigations, investigations, and investigations. The Democratic Senate has had a similar impressive record. They have had investigations, investigations, and investigations. On top of that, they have tried to have bipartisan action, even going so far as to have a slumber party to encourage friendship.
I am sure they will spend the night extolling the economic progress under the Bush administration and how the tax cuts passed under Bush were to correct the recession he inherited from Clinton. They will probably talk about the first two miserable years of the Clinton administration and how the country thrived with the first Republican Congress in years and years - oh yeah… and how he went after Osama Bin Laden so many times - also, his integrity and moral values that have contributed so to the American social fabric.

Finally, we can feel good that the oil companies made a HUGE profit in the second quarter. Their stock holders won’t have to take small dividends. I heard on television sometime last week that all oil storage facilities in the U.S. were full!! Not since the infamous John D. Rockefeller and his Standard Oil company has there been a bigger ripoff of the American public.
Exxon has estimated expenditure for this year’s exploration and production opportunities at $20 billion. I wonder if a little bit of this couldn’t be used for another gas refinery without the government having to give massive incentives?!
A certain political party is against offshore drilling and Clinton vetoed drilling in ANWR. Supposedly, we could get enough oil in these areas to last 15 to 20 years. It seems to me that this would give us an opportunity to come up with alternative energy sources. Several countries have most of their electrical needs met with nuclear power plants. We could also have this if barriers raised were removed and incentives were given. I would think that California, with all their energy problems, could manage to have a nuclear power plant built, perhaps where they have set aside land for endangered tortoises and rats.
I know that the VIPs such as Walter Cronkite, John Kerry, Chapaquitic Kennedy, and others were so welcoming for the windfarms to be built off the coast of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. I don’t know why they haven’t been successful in getting this completed (eye sore maybe?).
How must a family with both parents working, and jobs of low income just to get by, not be bitter about what they have to pay for gas, when the CEOs of the oil companies are grinning like the cat that swallowed the canary? What about young carpentry contractors, painting contractors, plumbing contractors, air conditioning and heating contractors having huge fuel bills that trickle down to the consumer, ultimately killing their profits because hesitation of marginal labor increases - just to keep up with the ‘big guys’? Then of course you have the man who tied up everything he had to get an over-the-road semi, and expected to pay for the rig and have money to care for his family. Now, because of fuel prices, he can’t care for his family and will probably lose his rig. Way to go oil companies - hang in there - you will make it!
