Forgot To Ask

My previous article made an inference that Obama was like a Punch and Judy character when you watched him speak with the tv sound muted.  This brings to mind the fact that Punch and Judy require someone behind the curtain doing the thinking and talking.  We don’t know who writes the words on his teleprompter.  Could it be David Axelrod – surely not Biden with his history of plagiarism.  In any event, he seems to be unable to speak without the use of his teleprompter.  You never see the teleprompters in the pictures supplied by the media.  Reminds me of how they never showed FDR in a wheelchair or on crutches.  I guess Obama’s use of teleprompters is the same as crutches.  What I would dearly love to see is some sort of glitch that shuts down his teleprompter in the middle of a speech.  It would be like a Punch and Judy show in progress would be if its handler all at once shut up.  Who is really behind the curtain?

Obama’s lyrical promises don’t ring true.

The stock market this week had a slight correction and many liberals were in newspapers, radio, and tv touting how Obama was turning around the economy.  How droll.  I hope this week is a trend and the stock market and people’s 401k continue to improve, however… I have doubts.  During the election and during the first two months Obama played down the economy and now he is saying how everything is going to be fine.  But who can count on anything he says?  His promises were not made to keep.

After only two months in office, President Obama may have fallen short on a number of his campaign promises.

As a candidate, he promised to allow public comment before signing bills, eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses, provide tax credits to businesses for hiring new employees, allow Americans to withdraw funds from 401(k) and retirement accounts without penalties, ban lobbyists from serving in his administration, reform earmarks, bring all combat troops home from Iraq in 16 months, sign the “Freedom of Choice Act,” give Americans $4,000 in credits for college and run a “transparent” administration.

However, after giving his word to the American people on so many issues, Obama has yet to fulfill many commitments.

WND has compiled the following extensive list of those abandoned promises:

Broken promise No. 1: ‘Sunlight Before Signing’

When Obama campaigned for the Democratic presidential nomination in Manchester, N.H., on June 22, 2007, he announced his “Sunlight Before Signing” promise.

“When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as the president, you the public will have five days to look online and find out what’s in it before I sign it,” he said.

He repeated that promise on his campaign website:

“Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.”

However, Obama signed his first bill, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act, on Jan. 20 – only two days after its passage.

He signed a second bill expanding the State Children’s Health Insurance Program just three hours after Congress passed it.

Again, on Feb. 17, Obama signed his 1,000-page $787 billion stimulus aimed at jolting the declining U.S. economy. He did so only one business day after it passed through Congress – without allowing for five days of public comment.

Broken promise No. 2: Capital gains tax elimination

According to his comprehensive tax plan released during his campaign, Obama promised to “eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses.”

Just weeks prior to the election, Obama advisers Austan Goolsbee and Jason Furman told the Wall Street Journal that Obama planned tax cuts that included “the elimination of capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups.”

People who invest in small businesses have only been allowed to exclude 50 percent of that gain from capital gains taxes. While Obama’s $787 billion economic-stimulus package reduces that tax liability – raising the exclusion to 75 percent – it does not eliminate it.

Broken promise No. 3: New American jobs tax credit

During his transition, Obama’s promised to provide a $3,000 refundable tax credit to existing businesses for every additional full-time U.S. employee hired in 2009 and 2010.

“If a company that currently has 10 U.S. employees increases its domestic full time employment to 20 employees, this company would get a $30,000 tax credit – enough to offset the entire added payroll tax costs to the company for the first $50,000 of income for the new employees,” the transition website stated. “The tax credit will benefit all companies creating net new jobs, even those struggling to make a profit.”

Obama’s promise was never included in the stimulus package.

Broken promise No. 4: Hiatus on 401(k) penalties

Many unemployed and financially strapped Americans have considered early withdrawals on 401(k) and retirement accounts to survive the current recession. However, the IRS imposes strict penalties of up to 10 percent plus federal, state and local income taxes on such advances.

Workers who have taken $10,000 in early withdrawals from retirement plans have lost as much as 40 percent to taxes and penalties, depending upon tax brackets.

In October 2008, Obama released his “Rescue Plan for the Middle-Class” in which he promised to allow financially distressed Americans to withdraw up to $10,000 from their 401(k) accounts and retirement savings without having to pay penalties. They would only pay income taxes on the amount.

“Since so many Americans will be struggling to pay the bills over the next year, I propose that we allow every family to withdraw up to 15% from their IRA or 401(k) – up to a maximum of $10,000 – without any fine or penalty throughout 2009,” Obama said. “This will help families get through this crisis without being forced to make painful choices like selling their homes or not sending their kids to college.”

However, Obama’s promise was never included in his recent stimulus package.

Broken promise No. 5: ‘No jobs for lobbyists’

Obama promised America he would loosen the grip of lobbyists on Washington.

In his Nov. 10, 2007, speech in Des Moines, Iowa, Obama declared:

I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this race to take on lobbyists — and won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.

During his campaign, Obama also said, “I have done more to take on lobbyists than any other candidate in this race. I don’t take a dime of their money, and when I am president, they won’t find a job in my White House.”

However, USA Today reported Obama’s campaign fundraising team included 38 members of law firms that were paid $138 million in 2007 to lobby the federal government.

“Those lawyers, including 10 former federal lobbyists, have pledged to raise at least $3.5 million” for Obama’s campaign, the report states. “Employees of their firms have given Obama’s campaign $2.26 million.”

It wasn’t long before he allowed at least two dozen exceptions and broke his promise.

Obama’s own ethic rules barred officials of his administration from lobbying their former colleagues “for as long as I am president.” He also said former lobbyists would be prohibited from working for agencies they had lobbied within the past two years. President Obama later waived his rules for at least two of his nominees – William J. Lynn III, undersecretary at the Department of Defense and recent lobbyist for Raytheon, and William Corr, deputy secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services and anti-tobacco lobbyist for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

Broken promise No. 6: Earmark reform

As WND reports, at the first presidential debate in Oxford, Miss., Obama declared, “[W]e need earmark reform. And when I’m president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely.”

However, in February, Obama passed his $787 billion stimulus aimed at jolting the declining U.S. economy. Before a joint session of Congress, Obama declared: “Now, I’m proud that we passed a recovery plan free of earmarks.”

Some chuckled in amusement when he claimed the bill contained no pork.

“There was just a roar of laughter – because there were earmarks,” Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., told CNN.

U.S. News & World Report found at least eight earmarks in his stimulus bill.

Obama also signed a $410 billion omnibus bill for 2009. More than 9,000 earmarks in the spending bill total an estimated $7.7 billion.

Even though the Democrat-controlled Congress crafted the bill after Obama’s election, the administration claims the added pork is just “unfinished business” from last year.

The White House website states, “Obama and Biden will slash earmarks to no greater than 1994 levels and ensure all spending decisions are open to the public.” However, watchdog group Taxpayers for Common Sense reports that the omnibus pork alone already totals $7.7 billion – just less than the total of $7.8 billion in earmarks in 1994 – and the figure does not include $6.6 billion in earmarks contained in three previous spending bills Congress passed amid the bailout crisis last year.

During his three years in the Senate, Obama requested more than $860 million in earmarks, according to the group. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has 16 earmarks – worth approximately $8.5 million – in the bill.

Broken promise No. 7: Bring troops home in 16 months

On his campaign website, Obama promised he would “remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months.”

His commitment to bring combat troops home by May 20, 2010, and end the war gave him an edge among Democrats over candidate Hillary Clinton.

However, on Feb. 27, Obama declared, “Let me say this as plainly as I can: By Aug. 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end.”

If Obama adheres to his plan, combat troops will return home months later than originally promised. The New York Times reports, Obama will withdraw only two of the 14 brigades before December.

As part of a “new era of American leadership,” he also said he would leave behind a residual force of 35,000 to 50,000 troops and remove all U.S. soldiers from Iraq by Dec. 31, 2011 – the same deadline the Bush administration negotiated with the Iraqi government last year in its Status of Forces Agreement.

Additionally, some combat units would remain in Iraq beyond Obama’s declared August 2010 withdrawal. Rather than returning home, they would simply face reassignment as “advisory training brigades.”

Even as combat troops are brought home, Pentagon officials have said fresh units will continue deploying to Iraq.

Broken promise No. 8: Sign ‘Freedom of Choice Act’

On July 17, 2007, Obama told the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, “The first thing I’d do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing that I’d do.”

Obama expressed his support for the sweeping plan that would repeal all national and state regulations of abortion passed over the last 35 years.

His agenda regarding “reproductive choice” is posted on the White House website. It states, Obama “has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women’s rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Administration.”

Obama chose radical pro-abortion Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to serve as the Health secretary, moved to void job protections for health workers who oppose abortion and repealed a ban on U.S. taxpayer funding of foreign abortions. While many pro-life advocates consider it a blessing that Obama has no fulfilled his promise to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, he has made no mention of the legislation since he took office.

Broken promise No. 9: $4,000 college credit

Obama pledged to make college “affordable for all Americans” when he announced his American Opportunity Tax Credit.

His campaign promise read: “This universal and fully refundable credit will ensure that the first $4,000 of a college education is completely free for most Americans, and will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university

and make community college tuition completely free for most students. Recipients of the credit will be required to conduct 100 hours of community service.”

While the American Opportunity Tax Credit was included in the recent stimulus bill, it offers a credit of only $2,500 for up to two years and requires no commitment to community service.

Broken promise No. 10: Transparency

On the White House website, the Obama administration claims it will be “the most open and transparent in history.

The administration released a memo on Jan. 21, stating:

My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.Government should be transparent. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. …

However, Congress and the administration hurried the $787 billion, 1,027-page American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to a vote after allowing lawmakers just a few hours to read the bill. It was also available online in a form that could not be keyword searched.

While former administrations immediately posted transcripts of presidential speeches – including some remarks before delivery – the White House website often waits until days or even weeks after an event to release transcripts.

Also, some say recent reports of tax evasion by Obama nominees is evidence that the administration is not as transparent as promised.

Just before Obama named Timothy Geithner to be his treasury secretary, the president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank quietly paid $26,000 in back taxes and interest due since 2001 and 2002.

Obama characterized the eight-year tax evasion as “an innocent mistake.”

But as many as five of his picks defaulted on taxes, including former nominee for health and human services secretary, Tom Daschle; former nominee for chief performance officer, Nancy Killefer; U.S. trade representative nominee Ron Kirk and Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.

Furthermore, while the president posted his own weekly “fireside chats” on YouTube during the campaign, many journalists report that he has a history of being less than welcoming to the Fourth Estate.

Columbia Journalism Review noted Obama’s treatment of the press: “During the campaign, reporters’ access to Obama was severely limited. On-the-record conversations with the candidate were even more so. Indeed, Obama’s overall treatment of the press – not just in his general rejection of the day-to-day news cycle, but also in his tendency to shun his national traveling press corps … created the impression that its members were, to him, a buzzing nuisance. Instead of the voice of the people.”

WND’s correspondent at the White House, Les Kinsolving, raised the issue in February that most of the reporters recognized for questions in the briefing room were among the same handful over and over again. Some of them had been given four or even five opportunities for questions while other reporters were not recognized at all.

Kinsolving, a senior journalist in the White House press corps, was not allowed to voice his questions on issues on which millions of WND readers have expressed an interest. There were also complaints about the time of the November election that not only did Obama rely on a few key reporters for questions, those reporters were chosen ahead of time.

And, finally, WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen.” The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

However, Obama has refused repeated calls to publicly release his Hawaiian birth certificate, which would include the actual hospital that performed the delivery. His campaign posted an alleged “Certification of Live Birth” online, but it is not the same as a Hawaii birth certificate. COLBs have been issued by Hawaii to parents whose children are not born in the state.

Instead of providing the documentation to end the lawsuits, a series of law firms have been hired on Obama’s behalf around the nation to prevent any public access to his birth certificate, passport records, college records and other documents. – even after more than 320,000 people signed a petition demanding that he live up to his promise of transparency by releasing the certificate to the public.

Nonetheless, during his campaign and after he took office, Obama maintained that his administration would have an unyielding commitment to transparency.

“The American people want to trust in our government again – we just need a government that will trust in us,” he said in a campaign speech. “And making government accountable to the people isn’t just a cause of this campaign – it’s been a cause of my life for two decades.”

The White House declined to respond to WND’s request for comment on Obama’s promises.

Obama does have his cheerleaders and proponents of anything he does or says.  They are the “Promote Obama” PR firm of Chris Matthews, Jon Stewart, Steve Colbert, Jay Leno, Keith Olbermann, and David Letterman – assisted by ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, NPR, CNN, and PBS.  Detractors have the whole firm giving them hell and taking them to task similar to anyone, even scientists saying global warming caused by humans doesn’t exist.  They are soundly and quickly trounced.  Even Bush and McCain were taken in with this propaganda war.

As far as I am concerned, the greatest threats to this country are Al Gore, Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.  I dread their actions against this country more than I do al-Qaeda.  The carbon tax pushed by Al Gore and being one of Obama’s aims will lead to more outsourcing than this country has ever known.  There will no longer be any steel production in this country, electricity will be limited, at times, as in Iraq.  The cost of gas for average Americans that have to commute will destroy them, and the country will be more of a class divided country and poorer than it ever was in its history – by poor I mean in spirit, outlook, and drive towards the future.  I really don’t want this to happen to my country.

• Isn’t it nice that Obama’s children will not have to go to school with those poor children?  Obama saw to that.
• Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, although they deny this, are the Hatfields and McCoys of Congress.
• Knowing who would follow Obama in the Presidency if he were to be unable to perform that duty scares the hell out of me!
• Summers and Volcker have sold their principals and character to ride the Obama express to financial ruin for the country, but at least they paid their taxes.
• Obama may hate Churchill but FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, and JFK thought he was a man of heroic stature.

We want this kind of charisma in the Senate?

Just saw and read a few snippets of the questions and answers of Caroline Kennedy as to her desire to be the US Senator from New York, replacing Hillary Clinton.  The fact that she normally doesn’t even bother to vote in elections, only now has she realized her civic duty and wants the Senate seat to be handed to her.  She fits the criteria that the elitists wish for anyone to come to Washington and even the Republican elitists who went into fits to think that someone from Alaska, not a celebrity or a Washington insider, could be allowed into their circle of very important people.   Even though Caroline is inadequate in any way to be a Senator, because of her celebrity and status in their circle, she would be readily accepted.

To know how this circle works and how it protects their own, just think of Teddy – kicked out of Harvard for cheating, being a factor in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne – of course, she was one of the common people not of their circle, and now Teddy is called the Lion of the Senate.  All I can say is BULL****!  The only thing he has going for him is his name Kennedy, and of course Caroline is a Kennedy.  In that case, shouldn’t Obama’s half brother, living in poverty, be given some post in government?  This would help take away some more of the guilt that has been carried around by the elitists for so long.

Unless and until the elitists lose their hold on our government and are replaced by some new blood from the hinterland, the cloak of corruption will continue.

If Congress can’t see from the happenings in the past year, the need to police the stock exchange and the manner that it is seen, perhaps they need special x-ray glasses, which can still be found in the backs of select science magazines and journals for $2.99.  The reason that so many ponzi schemes were able to thrive, such as Hsu and Madoff, is a signal of vast areas of corruption within the stock markets.  The commodity markets are just as corrupt.  Consider how Hillary could take $1000 and invest in the cattle futures market to make $100,000 in one year.  How many people lost money for her to get that return?  The speculators in the markets, from oil and orange juice to corn and wheat, have stolen from the American people and will continue to do so unless and until some stringent controls are placed on them.

Those harmed by Madoff, such as foundations, college and university trust funds, pension plans, and others were caught up in this because of greed, and they were taken by someone with a greater greed who played on their greed to deprive them of some of their money.  In many instances, this money was a result of previous greedy actions taken by them to obtain their wealth.  I find it very hard to feel sympathy for those who have been taken like this.  Many of them had made much of their money by investing with the oil speculators, who nearly destroyed their country and will continue to try to do so.  My only regret is that Madoff wasn’t able to bilk Soros out of a few of his billions obtained by defrauding other people.

Now let’s talk about the program put out by Obama to repair roads, bridges, and other infrastructures with huge infusions of money.  I think the least that could be insisted on is that all actions taken be arrived at by honest bidding and that all companies obtaining these bids be required to take positive efforts to make sure no illegal aliens are hired and Americans out of work ARE.  We don’t need any Rezko type projects where government money is taken to line the pockets of crooks.  Many of the illegal aliens have returned to their country because of the current economy.  This is just the kind of works projects that will bring many of them back.  Care needs to be taken that the jobs created will help American citizens.

This road and bridge system, or as called the Interstate Highway System was developed because of the road system in Germany in World War II.  Eisenhower saw the need for our own road system and saw this program through.  It has been one of our greatest assets for the economy.

One last statement: the government considering raising federal gas tax now that prices are reasonable and people are spending these savings on other things – more taxes are being raised in different ways.  It’s a case of killing the goose that lays the golden eggs, or they can’t see the forest for the trees.  Will there ever be any common sense used in our Congress?

We know that the Obama campaign sent 30 lawyers and investigators to Alaska to get dirt on Sarah Palin.  I think that the Republicans should do the same to find out his activities and associations during his time in New York at Columbia University.  This time has been completely blacked out by Obama and his henchmen.  Funny though, one of his former professors at Columbia was a Muslim who arranged for Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia.  We all loved that.  That professor endorses Obama.  At least one time Obama admitted he was a Muslim on the George Stephanopoulos show, but George quickly reminded him he was a Christian.  Was that a Freudian slip?

In the state of Missouri, where the Obama campaign has tried to do away with free speech, there is now a video of youth giving Obama praise.  I guess free speech is alright even in schools if teachers do videos praising Obama.  In other words, free speech is alright as long as it’s what Obama wants to hear.  Hitler had his youth program also, and he decided what the curriculum of the schools should be.  Obama doesn’t have as many youth trained and under his control as Hitler did, but he is working on it.

There is now an incideous disease spreading through our colleges and universities – the disease spreading contagion throughout our country is caused by the carriers of this disease – The professors, many of which are the original radical 60s generation who are against our country and even tried to kill Americans with explosives, professors such as William Ayers, a good friend to Obama.  There is, of course, his professor from Columbia University who arranged for Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia.

The radical youth of the 60s were mostly from wealthy families and had no purpose driven life, easily led by the Nazis, communists, and under-cover anti-government forces.  These were young people who were intellectually challenged and spoiled by their wealthy parents.  They are now in our colleges and universities infecting the young minds they have access to.  The founders of this country, who in many cases lost their homes, families, and their own lives are probably spinning in their graves, and I am sure those who gave their lives in the past to keep our country free would not approve of these who try to destroy it.  Those professors, now in place, are like a mold growing, spreading unnoticed, infecting and weakening the structure and eventually destroying the government.  I am very limited in what I can do to stop this, but I damn sure will do the best I can and pray that Americans will use their vote to stop this final destruction of the greatest democracy ever formed.

Who is Bill Ayers?  He is someone who grew up a rich brat, had no purpose in life, and became an apostle of Nazis and communists and went into terrorist activities.  Due to our justice system, he and his wife, another terrorist, were let go because of actions by the FBI that were slipshod.  His daddy left him an estate and now he has a house of great value and funds, professorship at the University of Illinois, still professing his hatred of America, wishing he had done more damage in the 60s.  I saw him recently standing on the American flag.  His greatest achievement in the last 20 years was helping to launch Barack Hussein Obama’s political career, and oh yeah… they will tell you he is a friend of Obama.

Who is Tony Rezko?  He was a mover and shaker in Chicago politics, received a great amount of money from a foundation that Obama was working for.  The funds that he received through Obama were to renovate homes in blighted areas.  He was also an Obama supporter and shared a mutual purchase with Obama.  The renovations were never done, Rezko kept the money, and he is now residing in jail.  Don;t know if Obama visits him or not, but we know he is a crook, and oh yeah… they will tell you that he is a friend of Obama.

Who is Louis Farrakhan?  He is the head of the Nation of Islam, father of the Million Man March, which Obama attended.  He espouses hatred of white people and Jews.  He is a great friend of Obama’s pastor, Jeremiah Wright and also Father Pfleger.  Farrakhan says Obama is the hope of the entire world.  Don’t you wonder why?  And oh yeah… they will tell you he is a friend of Obama.

Who is Jeremiah Wright?  He was a pastor of Obama for 20 years in Chicago and was originally a Muslim.  He preaches hatred of America and white people.  He is a great friend of Louis Farrakhan.  Also, he just made a trip to Libya.  He is also friends with Father Pfleger.  And oh yeah… they will tell you he is a friend of Obama.

Who is Father Pfleger?  He is a Priest allowed by the Catholic hierarchy to do what he pleased.  He spouts hatred the same as Wright.  He is a friend of Louis Farrakhan.  He made fun of Hillary Clinton on national television.  And knowing that Obama is all for abortion and infanticide, he still supports him and of course it is not as Pelosi and Biden say – the Catholic Church does NOT condone abortion.  How he is allowed to say and do what he does is beyond me.  He also received money from Obama through the foundation.  And, oh yeah… they will tell you he is a friend of Obama.

Who is Raila Odinga?  He is a high official in Kenya, a great friend of Obama, and had a hand in kicking out of Kenya the author of a book criticizing Obama.  And, oh yeah… they will say he is a friend of Obama.

Who is Rashid Khalidi?  He is the Columbia University professor who arranged for Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia University.  He is a Muslim.  And, oh yeah… they will say he is a friend of Obama.

ACORN was given funds by Obama from the foundation also.  Then this year, he tried to camouflage $800,000 that his campaign paid ACORN, and we all know what ACORN is – the master of voter fraud and stealing votes.

Watched the debate – boring, boring, boring.  The questions – I don’t know who picked them – but the majority were of NO consequence.  I don’t know what the content of the next debate will be, but I know it is to be hosted by a CBS correspondent, Bob Schieffer.  I know the last time in the election, a CBS reported named Dan Rather, tried to ambush Bush and turn the election to Kerry.  I hope Schieffer has a little more integrity.  I find it hard to consider ANY reporter or correspondent to practice integrity.

When Hitler sent his brown shirt youth through the streets of the cities of Germany, the citizens dared not show their faces.  Can you imagine how Americans will feel if the militaristic youth from Missouri in that video were to go through the streets of American cities?  How would the citizens react?  I have an idea they would feel the same way as the German citizens did.  Of course there is also little girls singing praises for Obama.  They wouldn’t scare anybody, but would make them sick at their stomach.  I can’t see Obama trying to take over the world as Hitler did, but I can see him keeping American citizens in line.  With Obama, I can see the “1984″ model of America coming true.  I believe he is a socialist and I don’t quite trust what he says.  His past associates and acquaintances will not make me rest easy in my mind about his motives.  A first-term Senator who has spent more time running for President than in the Senate makes me believe that he is not competent to run our government.

As both Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden said, “We can’t send someone in as President for on the job training.”  It is evident now how he defeated Hillary – with lies and chicanery – using race and innuendo.  I think McCain lost an opportunity in this last debate when he didn’t bring out how the Democrats have been forcing the U.S. to buy $700 billion of oil each year from foreign governments for the last several years by keeping us from drilling off shore and building nuclear plants.  They are also keeping new refineries for gas from being built, and by these actions caused us to pay exorbitant prices for gas and harmed our economy.  With this and what they did with Fanny and Freddy, they destroyed, completely, our economy.  They should be held responsible.

Did you notice the states in which voter fraud has been found?  It doesn’t take an Einstein to see who this benefits, someone who paid ACORN $800,000 for their work – his name is Barack Hussein Obama.

Heard the speechifying of Hillary and Bill supporting Obama.  Somehow this makes me wonder which one of them has been promised a nomination by Obama to become a Supreme Court Justice.  The question becomes: Can a lawyer who has been deprived of his right to practice law for a period of five years because of perjury be appointed to become a Supreme Court Justice?  That, of course, leaves Hillary, who would love to be in the limelight for the rest of her life.  Have the Clintons crossed the Rubicon?  From Whitewater to billing papers being lost, to Vince Foster to Monica Lewinsky, and on through the impeachment process and to 9/11, they have survived, sometimes using surrogates such as Pockets Berger and others.

The backdrop for Obama’s speech leads one to almost blurt out “Hail Caesar!”  Who is the Brutus to work with him, to banish Cicero and Crassus and order a hit on them?  Would the Republicans represent to Obama a force to be reckoned with as Cicero, Crassus, and other statesmen who would stand in his way?  I am afraid that Obama’s election will lead to the decline and fall of the greatest democracy ever.  I do not want to have our country be destroyed from within and become a socialist country with freedoms taken from our citizens and the government taking complete control of our lives.  That is not what so many brave citizens fought and died for.

Now onto another subject… Remember how Hitler would not allow dissent, and that gave him the power to immerse Germany in an attempt to rule the world and eradicate the Jewish people from the face of the earth.  Obama also tries to silence the voices of his detractors when they bring up his history and choices for friends – which is another way to judge his character.  See attached:

While the Obama coronation proceeds apace in Denver, it is in Chicago that Americans are getting a disturbing demonstration of his thuggish methods of stifling criticism.

Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, is a Harvard-educated social anthropologist and frequent contributor to National Review, among other publications. He is widely respected for his meticulous research and measured commentary. For months, he has been doing the job the mainstream media refuses to do: examining the background and public record of Barack Obama, the first-term senator Democrats are about to make their nominee for president despite the shallowness of his experience and achievement.

Kurtz has written extensively, and with characteristic attention to factual detail, about Obama’s early career as a “community organizer,” his cultivation of benefactors in the most radical cauldrons of Chicago politics, his long-time pastor’s immersion in Black Liberation Theology, his ties to anti-American zealots, and the years in the Illinois state legislature this self-styled agent of change spent practicing the by-the-numbers left-wing politics of redistribution and race-consciousness, remaining soft on crime and extreme on abortion.

This has led Kurtz, naturally, to scrutinize the relationship between Obama and one of his early political sponsors, William Ayers. Ayers, as we have previously detailed, is a confessed terrorist who, having escaped prosecution due to surveillance violations that came to light during his decade on the lam after a bombing spree, landed an influential professorship in education at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). As he has made clear several times before and after helping to launch Obama’s political career, Ayers remains defiantly proud of bombing the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol, and other targets. He expresses regret only that he didn’t do more. Far from abandoning his radical politics, he has simply changed methods: the classroom, rather than the detonator, is now his instrument for campaigning against an America he portrays as racist and imperialist.

Obama supporters risibly complain that shining a light on the Obama/Ayers relationship is a “smear” and smacks of “guilt by association.” A presidential candidate’s choice to associate himself with an unrepentant terrorist would be highly relevant in any event — does anyone think the Obamedia would keep mum if John McCain had a long-standing relationship with David Duke or an abortion-clinic bomber?

But we are talking about more than a mere “association.”

Bluntly, Obama has lied about his relationship with Ayers, whom he now dismisses as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” Ayers and Obama have made joint appearances together; they have argued together for “reforms” of the criminal justice system to make it more criminal-friendly; Obama gushed with praise for Ayers’ 1997 polemical book on the Chicago courts; and they sat together for three years on the board of the Woods Fund, a left-wing enterprise that distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to their ideological allies. Most significant, they worked closely together on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC).

The CAC was a major education reform project, proposed by Ayers, which was underwritten by a $49.2 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation, complemented by another $100 million in private and public funding. The project ran for about five years, beginning in 1995. As the liberal researcher Steve Diamond has recounted, Ayers ran its operational arm, the “Chicago School Reform Collaborative.” Obama, then a 33-year-old, third-year associate at a small law firm, having no executive experience, was brought in to chair the board of directors, which oversaw all “fiscal matters.”

By the time the CAC’s operations were wound down in 2001 it had doled out more than $100 million in grants but had failed to achieve any improvement in the Chicago schools. What little is known about the grants Obama oversaw is troubling. As Diamond relates, one of the first CAC awards in 1995 was $175,000 for the “Small Schools Workshop,” which had been founded by Ayers and was then headed by Mike Klonsky. It was only the beginning of the CAC’s generous funding of Klonsky — a committed Maoist who had been an Ayers comrade in the radical Students for a Democratic Society (the forerunner of Ayers’ Weatherman terrorist organization), and who hosted a “social justice” blog on the Obama campaign website until his writings were hastily purged in June after Diamond called attention to them.

The CAC records, said to comprise 70 linear feet of files, have long been maintained at the library of the UIC, the public university where Ayers teaches. This summer, Kurtz made an appointment to review them and, after being assured access, was blocked from seeing them by library administrators, who stammered about needing permission from the “donor” — whom they declined to identify. Kurtz energetically raised public awareness to the stonewalling, and the library finally relented this week. That is, as Barack Obama prepares to accept the Democrats’ nomination tonight, the records of his only significant executive experience just became available for review on Tuesday.

Kurtz began his review, and on Wednesday was invited on Milt Rosenberg’s radio program to discuss it. Rosenberg is a Chicago institution. His program, “Extension 720,” has aired for more than 30 years — a civil forum where knowledgeable guests from across the political spectrum discuss important issues in revealing two-hour interviews. What happened Wednesday night was stunning, as even the normally unflappable Rosenberg observed.

The Obama campaign — which has emissaries appearing everywhere — declined Rosenberg’s invitation to have a representative appear on the program and respond to Kurtz’s factual assertions. The campaign did, however, issue an “Obama Action Wire” that encouraged supporters to contact the program (telephone information was provided) and use scripted “talking points” to disrupt Kurtz’s appearance, which it deemed “unacceptable.” As the Politico’s Ben Smith reported, the campaign also urged supporters to demand that Rosenberg scrap the appearance of Kurtz, whom the campaign libeled as a “smear-merchant” and a “slimy character assassin.” The rant was reminiscent of the work of the left-wing media “watch-dog” Media Matters for America.

Other than denigrating Kurtz for being conservative, Obama’s operatives have provided no response to the substance of his claims. In their only pretense of engaging him, they accuse him of telling “a flat out lie” that Ayers recruited Obama for the CAC. Though it is a reasonable inference that Ayers recruited Obama, the careful Kurtz has stopped short of making it — observing only that Obama offers no explanation of how he was recruited if not through Ayers, his friend and the CAC’s driving force.

The station, WGN, has made a stream of the broadcast available online, here, and it has to be heard to be believed. Obama’s robotic legions dutifully jammed the station’s phone lines and inundated the program with emails, attacking Kurtz personally. Pressed by Rosenberg to specify what inaccuracies Kurtz was guilty of, caller after caller demurred, mulishly railing that “we just want it to stop,” and that criticism of Obama was “just not what we want to hear as Americans.” Remarkably, as Obama sympathizers raced through their script, they echoed the campaign’s insistence that it was Rosenberg who was “lowering the standards of political discourse” by having Kurtz on, rather than the campaign by shouting him down.

Kurtz has obviously hit a nerve. It is the same nerve hit by the American Issues Project, whose television ad calling for examination of the Obama/Ayers relationship has prompted the Obama campaign to demand that the Justice Department begin a criminal investigation. Obama fancies himself as “post-partisan.” He is that only in the sense that he apparently brooks no criticism. This episode could be an alarming preview of what life will be like for the media should the party of the Fairness Doctrine gain unified control of the federal government next year.

For record’s sake, let’s list Obama’s friends:

William Ayers, a member of the Weather Underground – a terrorist group; Bernadine Dohrn, another member of the terrorist group Weather Underground.  William Ayers is teaching in a university.  Is it any wonder what has happened to most of the “Yewt” graduating from colleges and universities today?  Then we have Father Flaeger, a dissident, leftist, and hater of Hillary Clinton and close friend of Louis Farrakhan.  Of course we have Obama’s pastor of twenty years, Jeremiah Wright, who preached hatred from the pulpit and even gave impetus to encourage Obama to write one of his books and use a quote from Pastor Wright as its title.  Let’s not forget Tony Rezko, his close friend and financial backer who got a great deal for him on his house and an extra slice of lawn.  Tony got repaid by Obama in deals like Dodd and Cornin did from Countrywide.  Tony got millions in graft, Jeremiah Wright’s church also received massive funds.  I believe the hospital that Michelle Obama is paid so graciouslyalso got payola.

In closing, all I have to ask is, is that the Great Wizard Obama behind the curtain?

Another item of interest in closing is the Democrats allowing Jimmy Carter, the worst President ever, to be at the convention.  Should Obama be elected, he will be another Jimmy Carter.  At least Carter claimed his brother Billy.  Will Obama claim his destitute brother?
