Cynicism is Required, Not Gullibility!

John McCain says that Americans are too cynical, but I say not enough of them. More informed people tend to be more cynical, thus the Congressional actions lead to cynicism by the American people. Reasons for this cynicism are broad and varied. Example: Congressional hearings of the oil companies. The Congressmen asked what the oil companies could do for the country, when they should be asking themselves what they could do for the country. For instance, stop using food products for processing of ethanol and raising the price of food to levels that affect the ability of average American families to feed their families full, nutritional meals.Congress could allow leasing by the oil companies of areas off the continental shelf and ANWR for oil companies to drill for our nation’s oil needs. They could offer a subsidy to find cheaper methods to remove oil from the oil shale in the western states. Should these things happen, gas prices would go down, food prices would slowly stabilize, our economy would improve and so would our balance of payments abroad, and our deficit would decrease.Another incident that encourages cynicism is the elitists of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and the Kennedys of Cape Cod not allowing wind farms because it would spoil their view and be in the way of their yachts. They sure are not asking what they can do for their country.

Cynicism is also required in the matter of global warming that our government is pushing, even though the last ten years have been cooler than usual. How can cynicism not rule when all three of the Presidential candidates are citing global warming when it doesn’t exist? What gives? John McCain, for all he says he is his own man, wants to be liked and follows the finger in the wind approach to his actions. Case in point, drilling in ANWR and off the continental shelf he kowtows to environmentalists to the detriment of the country.I wish we could send all the environmentalists, including Al Gore and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to Russia and China to put a crimp in their economy as they have in ours. How can you be anything but a cynic when you see the Democrats investigation or hearing committees on everything from baseball and oil companies to trying to take over Commander in Chief duties as their own, and take over the war from the Generals, even though the Chairman Carl Levin didn’t know the difference between an Admiral and a General. For the American citizens to not be cynical of their legislative body of government would require the willing suspension of disbelief.

May God continue to bless the USA!

China & Russia Economies Booming - Ours Gone Sour

Environmentalists, GET ER DONE!

As gas and food prices increase daily, the Democrats are crying about the economy more and more, and yet the reason we have these extreme gas prices is because the Democrats wouldn’t allow drilling in ANWR and other areas. Why can’t people see this? The main reason for the increasing prices for food is using food products to make bio-fuel, and the increased costs of transportation to move it. Why don’t the Democrats admit their errors in judgment and start allowing America to eliminate energy needs by having to buy from OPEC exporting countries to increase their bottom line and destroy our economy? The costs of subsidizing the processing of bio-fuels, solar energy, and wind power allows large corporations to increase their bottom line. The Democrats, with their false cry of Republicans underwriting large corporations are, themselves, the biggest supporter of these same corporations and the waste of American taxpayers’ money. Their assertions that we are in a global warming crisis is just another program to spend taxpayers’ money for large corporations and the Congress using it to buy votes from their constituents by the use of these wasteful expenditures.

Sometimes I wonder if average Americans can see past the end of their nose. Regardless of who wins the nomination for the Democrats, there will be the poorest choice for President ever handed to the American people to decide in a general election.

As this country has been going down hill in economic needs of the people, the Russian economy has been flourishing by sales of their gas and oi, of which they have a large surplus. This surplus is caused by extreme pursuit of exploring for areas having oil and gas, then drilling and selling the product. Their pursuit of obtaining this commodity of such great value was not hindered by environmentalists willing to sacrifice their country for “feeling good”.

Another country that environmentalists love to hate is China, who has no compunctions in pursuing their energy needs in any way - a new coal fired nuclear plant every six weeks, and they are not wasting their time on solar, wind, and bio-fuels. Their economy is booming and I don’t believe they have any environmentalists to drag them down.

Which Jeremiah makes more sense?

One other thing of note that should be discussed is Michelle Obama’s statement that the first time in her adult life she was really proud of her country was when her husband was running for President… do you think maybe Jeremiah Wright’s sermons may have had something to do with that? How many African American pastors do you think preach this thinking and influence the young African Americans? I hope not the majority. Jeremiah was a biblical prophet, but also a bullfrog.

Pelosi Citing Contempt - Everyone Has Contempt for Congress!

Poppy - not hard to destroy!

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, wants to do some more investigations, even going so far as saying that even though Harriet Miers and Josh Bolton have executive privilege, Congress will sue to make them appear for more hearings. She is citing contempt of Congress. I don’t know if she knows it or not, but just about everyone has contempt for Congress, and well they should.

When Congress fails to pass the terrorist surveillance bill to protect Americans, it is being done to insure that lawyers can sue phone companies that cooperated with the government in their effort to protect the country and American citizens - I guess a party that gets a large amount of money from trial lawyers. Someone should write a song called “Sue, sue, sue” and then Congress could use it as their theme song. I am so encouraged by how this Congress uses its time instead of spending time to investigate Roger Clemens and then have the FBI spend their time in investigating Roger Clemens. I would prefer that Congress and the FBI spend time doing those things that they are supposed to be doing, then there wouldn’t be so much contempt for Congress, the FBI, and other arms of the Justice Department. Does it matter who answers the phone at 3 a.m. in the White House if the Congress and Justice Department are failing in their pursuit of their duties? They may as well chase rabbits.

Reading today about how the 2007 poppy crop was a great success. That means the Taliban, through sale of drugs, are able to finance their military needs in their pursuit of re-taking Afghanistan. NATO is not pulling their share of the load and are leaving it to the Americans. There is no strong government in Afghanistan, consequently no action is taken on destroying the poppy crop. There is absolutely no reason that we couldn’t send in spray planes to destroy the crops before they ripen. To protect the spray planes, we could send in gunships and this problem would be erased. See attached:

Afghan poppy production grew to record in ‘07

March 1, 2008

By Jerry Seper - Narcotics production in Afghanistan hit historic highs in 2007 for the second straight year, providing revenue and arms to the Taliban and “undercutting” efforts to establish a stable democracy in that country, the State Department said yesterday.

The department, in its annual International Narcotics Control Strategy Report, said the Afghan government “must take decisive action” against poppy cultivation and do so soon to turn back the drug threat before its further growth and consolidation make it even tougher to defeat.

Ethanol - False Hope Causing Hunger and Bitterness!

He blames Hillary for NAFTA!

In the last few days it seems the news media has been talking about $4 gallon gas coming soon. They are so concerned about the economy surviving and saying the prices of oil is due to the falling dollar. It is not due to the falling dollar. It is due to a failure on the part of our Congress in keeping us from drilling in ANWR and off the continental shelf. We would have all the energy we need and the dollar would be rising, or deficit would be falling, and the country would be in much better shape. If a couple of refineries were built and drilling allowed, also a couple of nuclear energy plants being allowed, or energy problem would be solved without having to import oil from foreign countries, making our dollar weak and increasing our deficit.

The major cause for the high gas prices at the moment is mostly speculators on the futures market. Remember how Hillary made $100,000 with only $1000 as seed money - all without help from Tyson foods. Can you believe it? Finally economists are seeing what is happening to food prices because of the ethanol processed from corn, wheat, and soybeans. Should the prices of food and energy keep rising at the current rate, you will start seeing hunger becoming a major problem for this country. Counting on solar and wind power for our energy is without a doubt stupid, even to think about.

There are 200 acres in the desert with glass and mirrors, they say can power 35,000 homes. I don’t believe there are many small cities with 35,000 homes near the desert, and of course that wouldn’t include power for air conditioning, retail stores, small businesses, and manufacturing plants. The northeastern states certainly don’t have enough sunlight to make any appreciable difference in energy needs, and as far as wind, you saw what happened when a company wanted to install a windmill farm off of Cape Cod. The production and use of ethanol will have such an inflationary influence on food prices, it will cause hunger and bitterness in the general population, and let them eat cake statements will not suffice.

This country has never faced hunger except during the great depression, and when it starts due to the use of the great savior ethanol, pushed by the environmentalists, there will be blood, and Congress and the Senate will pay a price! How the American people have allowed their representatives to play silly games, kowtow to the environmentalists, and fail to do their jobs amazes me. It seems they are too concerned with baying like a pack of dogs at the heels of Roger Clemens.

Fuel moves the nation - MSNBC stops two party system

Just saw a financial program explaining how higher gas prices won’t affect the economy. This, from a group of stock brokers and players making money on the stock market. Never heard one of them mention the adverse action this takes on travel, such as: planes, trains, cars, and buses. Do you think this will make their prices go up and affect the amount of traffic? Of course there are those who have to travel for their business and employment. I do believe it will harm them, and affect them adversely. Then of course, we have those who have sufficient funds, that it doesn’t bother them. I don’t believe the owners of Bentleys, Rolls. Porches, and so forth, will suffer too much either.

Goods and services must move!

There are small business owners offering services such as: plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical repair, and so forth. They have to travel distances for their customers to perform their services. You can’t tell me the cost of fuel cannot make the difference between failure and success. For them to succeed, they will have to raise their prices, which will affect their customers’ budgets, and encourage them to put off needed maintenance. John Q. Public will be affected greatly for increased food costs. Farm equipment for planting uses fuel. Equipment for harvesting uses fuel. Freight transport to the processor has fuel costs. Freight transport to warehouses uses fuel. Transport to stores uses fuel. Customers trips to stores uses fuel. All these add to the costs of food. And the Democrats complain about Wal-Mart - THINK!!

The average consumer will be hurt in about the same manner as they are being harmed by the actions of trial lawyers, with the costs of their unethical suits and settlements being past on to the consumer. Case in point… a certain trial lawyer running for President with an estate and homes in the millions, complaining about their neighbor, next door to their newest shangri la being constructed. Oh yeah, this guy talks about the two Americas - the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’. He has, they don’t. He is just like all the other Democratic Presidential seekers, trying to stir up class envy, and bitterness of the electorate to get votes - playing on people’s discontent if they have any.

All of these Democratic Presidential aspirants are rich. Also, so are the Hollywood celebs helping them in these efforts. They talk of raising the tax on the rich. If they felt so bad for the poor, why don’t they give all their wealth to them? They are among the most hypocritical people on the face of the Earth. Reasonable people do not envy the rich if they earned it honestly - only those who obtained it through illicit or crooked ways. Trial lawyers are in this class with their $400 haircuts.
