Joe Biden says it’s patriotic to pay taxes. I guess Timothy Geithner, nominee for Treasury Secretary and Charles Rangel are not patriotic. One of the side duties of the Treasury Secretary is to oversee the IRS. Under his watch, will he make sure the IRS goes so easily on other people who screwed the IRS innocently? Charles Rangel, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, has not paid taxes for years, innocently. He takes his tax cuts by not paying taxes, but says tax cuts are not going to be made for others. I guess he thinks they should get their tax cuts the way he does – just don’t pay them. It’s nice that the American people have such role models as Rangel and Geithner to follow in their daily living. As long as you break the law innocently you could be Congressman, Cabinet member, or even President, as Obama innocently had dealings with Rezko, Reverend Wright, and Ayers, a former terrorist – but as long as it was innocent, it’s ok, ok?
The fact that Harry Reid and Jack Murtha are crooks doesn’t matter, because they did it innocently. Because of the happenings in Congress during the last two years, I no longer have respect for those who I saw at one time as the bedrock of Conservatism. It pains me, but I say that it is time for the following Senators to either change parties or pack their bags and leave the Senate:
- Richard Lugar
- Oren Hatch
- Charles Grassley
I understand, finally, what people have meant when they said their party left them.
I have just recently found how politically shrewd Obama really is. He arranged for a dinner with supposed Conservative journalists which included George Will, Peggy Noonan, and several other elitist moderate Republicans, and guess what? They were all the same journalists that were quick to put down and bad-mouth Sarah Palin. Since Obama thinks that he will be running against Sarah Palin in 2012, how shrewd is this? If the Republicans come up with a nominee that pleases this tight little group of elitists, we will never have another Republican President, nor should we. For years I read their columns and had a good opinion of them. I no longer respect anything they print. I guess they have been tarred with the brilliant thinking of the liberal professors who teach the children of today to abandon self and become one of their group and endorse group-think that all liberals do.
With Obama’s courtship of all forms of supposed journalists such as The Washington Post and elitist Conservative columnists and their swooning over him, and the Republican Senators failing to even try to stop tax evaders from becoming cabinet heads in the new administration, it gives me a sense of helplessness that I have never had as far as my government was concerned. I see no future for the Republican party when the elitists semi-Democrat moderates abound.
