I will relate the most embarrassing moment in my life and what it taught me. While I was in high school I played basketball. We practiced the period right after lunch. We would always put on our uniforms and start practicing during the lunch hour. Some students ate lunch in the gym, and most of the students, after eating lunch in the cafeteria, would congregate in the gym. Before this one incident, I had taken my jockey straps home to be washed and forgot to take them to school. So I dressed without one during practice.

Jimmy Goodin said, after we had been doing lay-ups “Buck, your trunks are split.” I realized immediately, without the jockey strap, all my secrets were laid bare. They were split from stem to stern. For weeks after this incident, I would be walking down the hall and girls would pass me giggling. From this incident, I learned humility and learned never to brag, because you can be found out so easily.
