Money to bailout the Big Three has become an albatross around the necks of the Democratic party. The American people are dead-set against the bailout and will continue to be. So if the Democratic Congress and the Democratic President bailout the unions, there will be hell to pay! Americans who work for wages far below what the union workers who work for the auto companies will not be happy with the bailout. Not only that, but most Americans do not have pension benefits furnished by their employer, especially to the extent available to auto workers. If you think that they haven’t killed the goose that laid the golden eggs, think of this… just with dues they pay their union, the unions have been able to spend millions upon millions of dollars to get Democrats elected.
Why should the Republican party work real hard for these unions? Even colleges and universities with enough cash on hand to move the stock markets are asking for a part of the $700 billion bailout package. Cities, towns, states, cousins, aunts, uncles, and everyone else is wanting some of it. Reminds me of the bubonic plague and how it swept Europe. If this isn’t stopped in its tracks, it will do as much harm to our economy as the plague did to lives. Rats and mice were carriers of the plague, but in the case of the bailout package, it’s the rats that want it.
I would suggest that they hold a lottery for these funds and allow businesses, cities, towns, and all Americans to buy into it, then use those funds for government give-a-ways.
I have some suggestions to give to the administrators of the Chapter 11 reorganization – have the workers take pay cuts to the level that the employees are being paid by the foreign manufacturers that are successful; cut the pension benefits to a more reasonable level; cut the employee union dues by at least one half of what they currently pay; also, when reorganizing, do not allow the unions to have a voice since the union leaders in most cases are just being a parasite on the backs of union workers. In fact, I would think that seeking help from the foreign companies managers who made their company a success would be apropo.
Most of the airline corporations went into Chapter 11 and came out much stronger. The only hope for the Big Three is bankruptcy and a realistic reorganization. These companies nor the country will benefit from a give-a-way to their continued inefficiency.
Since the price of gas is Bush’s fault, now that it is far more reasonable than in years, the savings to consumers of $2 a gallon should be Bush’s fault as well. This amounts to BILLIONS for consumers to spend and help the economy. Don’t forget, you supposed journalists, the low prices for gas is Bush’s fault. The media was able to lay the high prices for gas on Bush even though it was the Democrats who would not allow offshore drilling, nuclear power plants, refineries, etc.
I would say the Republican party has quite a PR problem. Having the same leaders after two massive election losses, wouldn’t you think this would tell them they have a leadership problem they need to resolve? I think it’s time the media took Bush to task for depriving Russia, Iran, and Venezuela of funds to harass us with by making oil so cheap. I don’t know why he didn’t take this action sooner. I think MSNBC, NBC, NPR, PBS, CNN, ABC, and CBS should air documentaries exposing him for this. They could have Dan Rather do the commentary. We know he would put his heart into it. At the same time, NewsWeek, TIME, New York Times, Boston Globe, LA Times, and others of the same intellectual capabilities, in other words, morons, could join in.
One other thing before closing – don’t forget to put Sarah Palin down every chance you get, or she just might invade your lair, and we sure don’t want anyone not of Washington to take up residence there. After all, if not part of the Washington scum, but some rube out in the hinterland, she shouldn’t be allowed there. Put that in your bag of gigantic egos. That applies to YOU, also, Conservative gigolos – YOU know who YOU are!
