Just saw and read a few snippets of the questions and answers of Caroline Kennedy as to her desire to be the US Senator from New York, replacing Hillary Clinton. The fact that she normally doesn’t even bother to vote in elections, only now has she realized her civic duty and wants the Senate seat to be handed to her. She fits the criteria that the elitists wish for anyone to come to Washington and even the Republican elitists who went into fits to think that someone from Alaska, not a celebrity or a Washington insider, could be allowed into their circle of very important people. Even though Caroline is inadequate in any way to be a Senator, because of her celebrity and status in their circle, she would be readily accepted.

To know how this circle works and how it protects their own, just think of Teddy - kicked out of Harvard for cheating, being a factor in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne - of course, she was one of the common people not of their circle, and now Teddy is called the Lion of the Senate. All I can say is BULL****! The only thing he has going for him is his name Kennedy, and of course Caroline is a Kennedy. In that case, shouldn’t Obama’s half brother, living in poverty, be given some post in government? This would help take away some more of the guilt that has been carried around by the elitists for so long.

Unless and until the elitists lose their hold on our government and are replaced by some new blood from the hinterland, the cloak of corruption will continue.

If Congress can’t see from the happenings in the past year, the need to police the stock exchange and the manner that it is seen, perhaps they need special x-ray glasses, which can still be found in the backs of select science magazines and journals for $2.99. The reason that so many ponzi schemes were able to thrive, such as Hsu and Madoff, is a signal of vast areas of corruption within the stock markets. The commodity markets are just as corrupt. Consider how Hillary could take $1000 and invest in the cattle futures market to make $100,000 in one year. How many people lost money for her to get that return? The speculators in the markets, from oil and orange juice to corn and wheat, have stolen from the American people and will continue to do so unless and until some stringent controls are placed on them.

Those harmed by Madoff, such as foundations, college and university trust funds, pension plans, and others were caught up in this because of greed, and they were taken by someone with a greater greed who played on their greed to deprive them of some of their money. In many instances, this money was a result of previous greedy actions taken by them to obtain their wealth. I find it very hard to feel sympathy for those who have been taken like this. Many of them had made much of their money by investing with the oil speculators, who nearly destroyed their country and will continue to try to do so. My only regret is that Madoff wasn’t able to bilk Soros out of a few of his billions obtained by defrauding other people.

Now let’s talk about the program put out by Obama to repair roads, bridges, and other infrastructures with huge infusions of money. I think the least that could be insisted on is that all actions taken be arrived at by honest bidding and that all companies obtaining these bids be required to take positive efforts to make sure no illegal aliens are hired and Americans out of work ARE. We don’t need any Rezko type projects where government money is taken to line the pockets of crooks. Many of the illegal aliens have returned to their country because of the current economy. This is just the kind of works projects that will bring many of them back. Care needs to be taken that the jobs created will help American citizens.

This road and bridge system, or as called the Interstate Highway System was developed because of the road system in Germany in World War II. Eisenhower saw the need for our own road system and saw this program through. It has been one of our greatest assets for the economy.

One last statement: the government considering raising federal gas tax now that prices are reasonable and people are spending these savings on other things - more taxes are being raised in different ways. It’s a case of killing the goose that lays the golden eggs, or they can’t see the forest for the trees. Will there ever be any common sense used in our Congress?

Heard Chertoff, Homeland Security Chief, say that what they were concerned about with Obama’s security was some right-wing nut. I think he should re-examine his thinking as to who is the most dangerous. I don’t think it was a right-wing nut that set the church to which Sarah Palin attends on fire. If you wish to look for violent actions, you should look at Code Pink and the gays and lesbians in California, who will not accept the results from Proposition 8. I don’t believe they feel the majority should rule - typical reaction of liberals who believe in majority rules as long as they are in the majority.

If you want to see hatred in the raw, you have to look no further than the liberal media. It is also the liberal wing of Americans that are trying to do away with Christmas and to keep the churches in line as to their beliefs or non-beliefs. I don’t think they have to fear Conservatives as to Obama’s safety. After all, if something happened to him, it would leave Biden as President. That is a nightmare no Conservative wants to face. After that would be Nancy Pelosi - God forbid! As it stands now, with the three of them and ole Harry, it’s like the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Let’s hope poor Alice survives.

No outcry from the Republican National Committee and from members of the Republican Party about how the vote canvassing in Minnesota is trying to turn the election around and give it to Al Franken is absolutely disgusting. If the votes I have seen in the news media and how they have been construed by this canvassing board is correct, then they are the most crooked people on the face of the Earth. The Democrats and Democratic Party have stolen more elections than Stalin. I would pose this analogy: There are two stores side by side. One is failing, the other very successful. Someone goes in and says to the successful store owner “We are giving your store to the failing store’s owner because that’s the way we think it should be.” What is the point of voting if your vote is taken away from you at someone else’s discretion? To me, stealing a vote is worse than stealing money, and I call this canvassing board a bunch of crooks.

When the election was finished and Coleman won by over 700 votes, you wouldn’t think it would be easy for the election to be stolen from him, but seems they are managing to do this quite easily. So YOU Republicans in Congress sit there and don’t make waves. Let the people decide should not be an empty phrase, but a continuing promise. This Minnesota voting canvassing board is apparently another form of piracy. With the Republican party’s reaction to this voter fraud, I can see no way they will even fight against card check or the renewal of the Fairness in Broadcasting Act. In other words, they are a bunch of WIMPS!

Now that Obama is coming to office and Bush returns to Texas, what will happen to all that hate generated by the Democrats and news media for Bush? The teenagers and young people of today have known nothing but this hatred for their President for most of their lives. The people who did this to them have a lot to answer for. Will the coverage of Obama, with love and admiration, confuse these same teenagers and young persons? I have been a Conservative all my life, and yet, now that Obama is our President, I will give him respect and wish him the greatest amount of success because I love my country and I am ashamed of those who spouted hatred towards Bush for all eight of his years as President. And yes I do doubt their patriotism.

Now that Christmas has passed, I must say that those who have been trying to destroy Christmas have made giant in-roads into their campaign. Political correctness has helped them in this task and has led to a crisis of morality in this country, especially with the younger generations. Lowes, the major competitor to Home Depot fired someone for wearing a Christian pin. Now I am a one-person boycott against Lowes and will make sure my purchases go to Home Depot. There were many instances of efforts made to undermine or destroy Christmas as a religious experience and make it only a celebration of winter. God love us.

The public schools stopped this horror!

I was very fortunate this Christmas to have all my Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren bring Christmas to me at my house. It was a very happy occasion. One thing happened that brought home to me and everyone there the impact of political correctness. I asked my oldest great granddaughter, who was seven, if she would sing one of the Christmas carols she was taught in school. Her reaction was without even thinking, “Granddaddy, we go to public school!”

The fate of a shoe-thrower had Saddam been in Bush's place

A Saddam follower throwing shoes at the President, who went against Saddam to being freedom to a country and to stop the murder and torture at Saddam’s hands of anyone who questioned his actions or disagreed with him, brings home the fact that the Islamists have hatred for this country as when they danced in the streets when 9/11 happened. But what concerns me more than that is the reaction of our esteemed fourth of state and them reacting to it with glee. I can understand comics using this in their routines, but when ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN were so gratified of this in their news coverage, it made me wonder if they were glad when 9/11 happened. I am afraid their patriotism has been taken away by their Bush hatred syndrome.

It would seem to me that their lives are so empty they need their hatred for someone to make living, for them, have some meaning. After Bush has left the scene, they will need someone else to turn this on, and it can’t be a Democrat, so it will have to be some Republican they can turn their need to hate on, and I feel sorry for HER and what she will have to go through.

The pity expressed by the Wall Street crooks for the credit card companies, who in two years will lose one of their tools to STEAL - especially from the poor, by the actions of the Federal reserve makes me sick. I think the amount of money placed before the banking committee by the lobbying firms, paid for by the credit card companies, is something that should be placed before John Q Public for some decisions to be made for who should be voted out of office. There should be some simple formula set up to apply to credit card company charges without having to have two or three pages of small print describing how they have a right to STEAL from you.

I was very pleased to read an article explaining how Russia is suffering from the low oil prices. Makes me feel guilty every time I fill up my gas tank. The world bank put out a statement saying how bad low oil prices will harm the world economy. How many ways can you say BULL S***? Members of the United Nations and the world bank have been squeezing money for themselves from sales of oil for years, especially when Saddam was in power. Is there any wonder that they HATE Bush? The UN has been like an albatross around the neck of the United States since it was founded, and all it has done is block any program the United States is for. We should take that quarter-billion a year we give them and use it for better purposes.

Evil Empire: Putin wants it back again!

Throughout history, there has been opportunities taken and some not taken that have changed the future. There is an opportunity at this time for the United States and all countries that have available places to drill for oil. Make every effort to do so and keep the price of oil low for the benefit of all nations except for OPEC countries, Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. Reagan used $10 a barrel oil (when it fell that low) to defeat the evil empire. Putin has been trying to rebuild the evil empire by use of $147 barrel of oil prices. Now that oil is below $40 a barrel, Russia is hurting and does not have the funds needed to rebuild that evil empire. Any person looking at Putin’s activities, recently, must know what his intentions were.

One thing I will add… if speculators rule and this opportunity isn’t taken, history will judge HARSHLY those who fail to avail themselves of this opportunity. I don’t think the Democrats will because of the hold the environmentalists have on them. My greatest wish is for common sense, somehow, to work its way into the political structure of this country. As for the media, until one of them is able by use of the Freedom of Information Act to get a list of the money given by the Treasury to financial interests in this country, and if reasonable efforts were made to see that the American people received some benefit from this giveaway, I will continue to hold my opinion of them in abeyance.

"Think I'll invest with Madoff"

The leading indicators have not shown it yet, but if the price of gas continues to fall, the billions put in to the economy by the money saved by consumers to spend on other things will start a comeback of the economy - slowly at first, but will make a big difference within 6 months. This will make a bigger difference than the bailout and saving the Big Three. If the auto companies were allowed to take Chapter 11, their recovery and saving of their companies will happen sooner than it would with this bailout.

Have heard financial analysts saying how the cheaper gas is a destructive influence on the economy. I beg to differ and wonder if this shows any amount of common sense. I think that Harvard, Yale, and all those elitists colleges and universities in their teaching of these offspring of the elitists somehow erases any amount of common sense they have accumulated. I also heard one of these financial “gurus” saying the changes in credit card billing will only hurt the poor. I don’t think he is aware of how many poor people are being able to only pay the interests due and will be paying off this interest forever. Help to the poor would be better served by placing a maximum of 12 percent interest on all credit cards. The credit card companies will still thrive and offer a chance for the poor to be able to help in restoring the economy.

I know that the credit card companies are paying off the politicians by use of their lobbyists to continue to screw the American poor, and that is just another way they pad their wallets, and I doubt that there are very many honest Senators or representatives to take any action. Poor Diogenes would use up many lanterns looking for an honest man in Washington.

Speculators are at it again with oil - raising prices AGAIN, predicated on OPEC cutting production. They can rest easy. They will say they are cutting production, but Iran, Russia, and Venezuela may say they are going to cut and many other countries will say they are, but they won’t. Many of them are hurting and need every cent they can raise from their major cash crop. Should the price of oil fall further, which it would if allowed to, Russia, Iran, and Venezuela will lose their ability to underwrite terrorist groups, spread dissension, threaten their neighbors, and expand their sphere of influence.

Lowest rate ever on funds by the Fed - highest interests rates ever for credit cards, affecting 90 percent of this country - this doesn’t affect the rich because they pay on receipt of their bill and don’t end up paying these usurious rates. Many of the poor are now on the cycle that they are only able to pay the interest and can use its service no longer. How this is a boon to the poor, as some financial gurus are prone to say, escapes me.

There are some who got on this cycle by having to use these charges for medical needs, repair needs, or other necessities, and once caught in that trap the credit companies just sit back and watch the money roll in. I know that I am hung up on this and seem to repeat myself. What got me started again was when the news started blaring about how the Fed cut the interest rates to the lowest ever and all the financial wizards were shouting with GLEE! Another thing was how the Madoff investors were being classified as victims. That is not quite true. They were caught up in GREED and Madoff used their greed to bring them to slaughter. Now there is talk about helping them get some of their money back from the government. Had they made those fantastic returns they had hoped, I don’t think they would have offered some of it to the government.

I find the notion that they should be felt sorry for and efforts made to recover some of their funds reprehensible. They were caught by their greed and just showed their humanity. Seems that the government is intent upon bailing out the rich. It makes me sick. When Congress makes an effort to cut the usurious rates, the poor are charged. Stop the credit card company robberies - I might think differently.

The bank pays one-quarter percent for their money, then their credit card branch charges 20 to 30 percent on their credit cards. Think about it. Until these changes are made by use of common sense and possibly an honest politician leads this change, I will reserve my pity for the rich.

One thing for clarification, I must say I don’t have any credit cards, even though I get at least 2 offers a week. I don’t think the poor will ever inherit the earth, even though the Bible says they will. Shysters will keep on robbing until they own the earth. Let’s hope I am wrong.

Frankly, Franken is a horses a**!

A little, a very little has been coming out on the election in Minnesota. It is undoubtedly the most blatant attempt to steal an election that I have ever seen. This is a good indication of the PR failure of the Republican party. They are allowing this fiasco to continue without ever bringing this to the attention of John Q Public. It wouldn’t take a genius to see how a comedic idiot is trying to undermine the will of the people in the voting process. He already has had help in trying to steal the election, even before the election, by the use of ACORN and the money of George Soros, the crook who underwrites many scurrilous groups to sway this and other elections.

Should this fraud be allowed and one of the Senators be Al Franken, the Senate will lose 90% of what little credibility they currently hold. The Republican Senators finally stopped turning the other cheek when they kept this fiasco of an auto bailout from going through to benefit the UAW and allow the further rape of the taxpayers. I hear that President Bush is going to undermine their effort and it is appalling to me. But let’s face it, he has never been a Conservative in the model of Ronald Reagan, and McCain, our nominee in this past Presidential election, is definitely not a Conservative. He may be a nice fella and a true American hero, but even if he had won the election, we still would not have been governed in a Conservative manner.

The same leaders in the House and Senate are on board again. I hate to say it, but they certainly are not the loudest voice in the pack. The Democrats have been able to be the loudest voice in the hunt and until the Conservatives become the loudest voice on the foxes trail, the fox will definitely get away.

I have noticed the heavy amount of commercials on tv from all directions, putting down coal, describing how filthy it is and how it should be replaced by sunshine and wind - dream on. The use of coal was one of the mainstays of the industrial revolution that brought this country to the world power that it is. The Democrats and environmentalists will be making an extreme effort to make coal and oil as illegal as cocaine. I anticipate the Democrats in this administration to, again, make offshore drilling against the law. This will please their base, a bunch of environmental wackos, however, it will harm the average citizens. We know how much this will concern them. They will feel our pain. Makes you wonder why the coal states, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia would be so keen on voting in Democrats. However, I have learned from the past election that people in Pennsylvania don’t let being stepped on bother them.

You can bet the Democrats wouldn’t work as hard for the coal miners unions as they are currently working for the UAW. I believe this is coal miners casting their pearls before swine. Their extreme hatred of coal is caused by the global warming hoax, and it IS A HOAX. Many more scientists don’t accept this global warming than those that do. It is really amazing how ad campaigns can convince normal, logical thinking people something is true that isn’t. Note the current campaign laying all the world’s ills at the foot of coal. Once they get rid of it, oil and nuclear power will be next. We will all become flower children as in the 60s. We won’t bath or shave and will smoke enough dope to not miss any of civilizations trappings. And if the current trend continues, free love with any and everyone will be here before coal, oil, and nuclear have been demolished, and the only thought of it be will be in memory. Guess we will all have to move to San Francisco, LA, and points of GREAT intellect.

Life is great - love is free!

The Clean Air Act is being abused by all the hot air and speculation on Governor Blagojevich affair. This type of business is to be expected when the moral fiber of the United States has been strained to the breaking point by politicians, judicial activism, political correctness, and educators with extreme views such as unaccountability of students for their own grades, not allowing exceptionalism or rewards for students that work harder than others. Parents who teach no manners or morals to their children expect nothing from them, consequently they get nothing from them. Many parents who do give lip service to the need to give children attention, don’t. There are also many parents practicing an immoral lifestyle and setting that example to their children.

Children see, everyday, news about mothers killing their babies, wives and husbands killing each other, children killing parents, fathers killing children, children killing other children in school and on playgrounds, politicians taking bribes, speculators robbing everyone, and now their own government also not expecting exceptionalism, but bailing out firms that have been butchered by their CEOs or employees, CEOs getting millions upon leaving - paying themselves large bonuses while there. Then the government steps in and says “Oh well, we will just bail them out with other peoples money who have been practicing exceptionalism.” This sets an example for the young to follow. I wish someone would take a poll about who is most trusted - used car dealers, ex-cons, or politicians.

One question, which is worse? Governor Blagojevich selling a Senate seat or Al Franken stealing one? Where is the outrage? The day the Democrats take actions, actions of some kind against the UAW, the oceans will subside and peace will reign.

There is one avenue not followed that could save the auto industry, and that is for the unions to loan them the money. They must be able to because they have the money to spend millions upon millions during every election to get Democrats elected. Of course they feel the Democrats owe them and figure that whatever the American people want or don’t want really is of little consequence. Chapter 11 is the only true course for getting the auto companies on a good footing. This would give them time to reorganize in a meaningful manner - getting concessions from the unions, concessions from vendors supplying parts needed, closing of unneeded plants, concessions from insurance underwriters, etc.

As far as salaries and bonuses are concerned, it’s not only the CEOs, but salaries of the Board of Directors that are exorbitant. I wonder if there is anyone but me who thinks Boards of Directors for all corporations are just a form of payola, graft, and political payoffs. I wonder how much Hillary got for sitting on the Board of Directors for Wal-Mart. I watched the hearings on the $700 billion bailout. Barney Frank and Maxine Waters were putting on thick that the manager handling the $700 billion bailout was really bad allowing foreclosures on homes to happen when they, themselves, kept Bush from putting controls on Fannie and Freddie, who are at fault for starting this financial meltdown and for all the foreclosures. Yet, they seem to get away with it. That’s why, during the election, the voters thought that Congress was in the hands of the Republicans and held them responsible when it was really the Democrats in control. Would you think that shows how stupid the Republican campaign managers were? The way that the Democrats are able to use propaganda to enhance their reputation and put down the Republicans is impressive.

There is no doubt that the Republicans have a very poor PR record.

Now a subject that’s dear to my heart… the disintegration of a part of the Democratic party. What I have reference to is the Chicago Tribune and LA Times going bankrupt - not good for the Democratic party. Also, the New York Times has to mortgage its headquarters - not good for the Democratic party. Another item… NewsWeek magazine due for more cuts and downsizing - not good for the Democratic party. They are owned by the Washington Post company, which also owns Slate magazine on the internet. The left-leaning news organizations losing circulation and readership warms my heart. I wonder if it will ever cross their minds that many Conservatives know how to read and are sick and tired of news media putting them down, supports the liberal line, and endorses, pushes, and spews the Democratic line of garbage.

You would think that years ago they would have figured out that people seeing their biases and noting their insults would not continue to purchase their products. I guess they saw how Jack Murtha called his constituents “racists and rednecks” and they still voted him in. Unfortunately, Republicans will stand for this just so long and then rebel. I know they think that the people in fly-over country are stupid, but we do read and think, and having free will we can choose what we buy and read.

I have noted with pleasure that there is less of a possibility that the auto bailout will happen. Let’s face it, the $14 billion will end up only enriching the UAW coffers. I figure it will take about 6 months before the union’s treasury will swallow up this first installment. After that, they will be back for more. If they don’t get it, I know it will break the Democrats’ hearts because this will take away many millions from them to help defeat Republican opponents. This is one of the few things that bother me about President Bush’s actions - pushing this bailout as well as the original financial bailout. Another thing is his failure to pardon the two border agents who were improperly tried by US Attorney, Johnny Sutton, and convicted on the word of a known drug dealer. That bothers me a lot.

Another incident of this nature was allowing Patrick Fitzgerald to prosecute Scooter Libby for outing Valerie Plame when it was known that another person in the administration had inadvertently leaked it and already had admitted it. However, Patrick Fitzgerald kept this quiet and worked hard to convict Scooter Libby for perjury for which he paid dearly. President Clinton committed perjury, paid no price as have many others. Bush has the power to right these wrongs of Scooter Libby and the two border agents, and if he doesn’t… SHAME ON HIM.

Corruption in Chicago is nothing new. However, it is not consigned only to Chicago. It rears its ugly head in most large and small cities, within all parties, in towns and municipalities, and will continue until the voters identify who these people are, use their right to vote in secret ballot, and not vote these crooked people in and use that same vote to vote out any that have allowed themselves to become tarred with this slime, the slime sending government funds to organizations such as ACORN to allow voter fraud and take our right away to have votes cast, being counted against another honest vote, not a fraudulent one, two, or three.

Another thing that is becoming preposterous is the fraudulent way the Congress and Senate are crying wolf over and over about the disaster coming if we don’t bail out the auto companies. A bailout would be the worst thing we could do. It would weaken them more. The best thing would be to allow them to take Chapter 11 bankruptcy and come out stronger than ever. The Democrats, so vocal about bailout out the car companies, are really concerned that the union coffers would not be available to get them re-elected. I saw one of them, Senator Barbara Boxer, saying she wanted this because of jobs, jobs, and jobs. What she really meant was unions, unions, and unions.

What I can visualize is union workers and politicians sitting around a huge table, feeding off tax payers with apples in their mouths.

History has a habit of repeating itself, and yet our politicians seem to ignore it. As you can see, the unions destroyed the American auto industry, and yet the Democrats want to do away with the secret ballot and replace it with a card check system so the unions can increase in all industries. There is no doubt that this is what they wish to do while destroying the auto industry by the unions is still fresh in their minds. Can you just imagine the retail industry, food industry, medical industry, gas stations, and all sorts of industries being controlled and destroyed by the unions? I doubt very much if even that would cause dismay to the Democrats. They would just want to bail out those unions and keep the circle of nefarious actions in place.

I know that this $700 billion bailout gave billions to financial institutions, and in most cases the CEOs were not held accountable and asked to resign. But the CEOs of the three auto companies were asked to consider resigning. The best thing for this country would have been if no bailout had been done, but since it was, this doesn’t justify bailing out unions by use of taxpayer funds. The unions have held the auto companies and their profit structure hostage until they destroyed them. We don’t need to allow this to happen to other industries. Myself and many other Conservatives will see to it that the ranks of Republicans in Congress are further decimated in the next election by voting out any Republicans who vote for the Democrats bills such as card check, auto bailout, fairness in broadcasting, and other anti-freedom ideas.

The following are some of the reasons that the Democrats have taken seats in the Senate and Congress from the Republicans:

The Republicans don’t defend their own nor bring Democrats to task for their criminality. By criminals, I mean REAL criminal acts such as William Jefferson, who has been taking bribes and breaking the law and is still maintaining his freedom and living high off the hog with no compunction. On the other side of this equation is Ted Stevens, who was quickly tried just before the election and convicted before the election. Shows the Democrats have the power.

Barney Frank, one of the BIGGEST crooks in Congress involved in the sub-prime mortgage crisis, taking campaign donations from the heads of Fannie and Freddie and helping to cause this sub-prime mortgage and financial crisis. Also, another little matter is when he had a homosexual bordello in his home in Washington DC and made homosexual advances to Congressional pages. On the other side of this equation is Mark Foley, sending emails of a suggestive nature to a previous page. Mark Foley is gone in shame.

Jack Murtha, caught in an FBI sting, gets away with it, and is the earmark king spending on military matters in his district, not sanctioned by the Defense department and he is still around even after calling his constituents rednecks and racists. On the other side of this equation is Trent Lott, making a statement honoring a very old man and a fellow Senator. His own party demonized him.

There are many crooks serving in the Democratic party at this time, such as Charles Rangel, Jack Murtha, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Kent Conrad, Chuck Schumer, and others. When a Democrat is put down, their fellow Democrats fight for them like a tiger defending her cubs. When a Republican is put down, their fellow Republicans act like a Donkey, running away braying. The Democrats are a party. The Republicans are individuals.

Another thing I might mention is the massive works program being pushed by Obama for roads, bridges, government buildings, and so forth. If you have been very aware of watching some of these projects being conducted, you must have seen, as I have, that most of the laborers working on these projects are Hispanics - whether legal or illegal I do not know. If you have read or heard any of the news articles in the last few months, it has been widely reported that many illegal Hispanics have returned to their countries because of a lack of construction in the United States.

THEY WILL RETURN!

Where's the Special Victims Unit to imprison Congressional rapists?

RAPE - that is the term I would use for what Congress is attempting to do to the American people. I hear people in the financial sector talking about how cheap gas is a dangerous thing. Of course, they live in cities, have money in excess of what the average American does, and take cabs to work. In actuality, cheaper gas, allowing people to keep some of their funds to spend on consumer needs and other things will help the economy recover much quicker than these massive bailouts will do. The bailouts only help the fat cats recover from their losses. Many Americans commute 20-40 miles to work each day and they have been hurt dramatically by the high prices of gas. Can you imagine how much money this will allow them to spend to help the economy recover? It amounts to BILLIONS annually and TRILLIONS in a few years.

These are not the people getting $80 an hour and many extreme benefits. Now Congress is considering BILLIONS for the auto companies and unions - another rape of the American people. The steel industry and airlines went through Chapter 11 and came back much stronger. The same would happen to the auto companies, specifically the Big Three. The other union-free auto companies are surviving quite well. One of the things weighing on the economy is the tool the Democrats have been waving, which they call CARD CHECK, and takes away the secret ballot for joining unions - one of the biggest detriments to planning by small companies and independent businesses and one of the threats encouraging layoffs and discouraging hiring.

I will work to defeat any Republican who gives their vote to help this cause and continues to work with the Democrats in their rape of the American economy and its citizens.

The credit card companies have been raping the American citizens, using usurious rates for years and years, and they are included in this bailout. With their massive spending on lobbyists and contributions to political campaigns, I am sure it won’t happen, but if Congress passed a law that made a maximum of 12 percent interest that could be charged and did away with usurious rates, this would help the American economy in a fantastic manner.

Wall Street wondering why consumer borrowing is down only have to look at people whose ability to repay the credit card and borrow more, because the interest rates charged has destroyed them, and all they are able to pay is the interest or minimum payment. That’s one hell of a drag on the economy. The Fed dropping interest rates for the banks and this bailout has not been of any help to the economy since the banks have held on to the money, using it for their own bonuses and their own growth. This bailout has been a cancer on the American economy and is continuing to grow and kill the surrounding tissue, being helped to spread by the auto unions and their hostages, the Big Three auto companies. Of course the thing that started this cancerous growth was Fannie and Freddie. They still exist and are a tumor which is only waiting to become another cancer.

The price of oil coming down the way it has has been a boom to Americans and our economy but is hurting, drastically, those countries whose economy is predicated on the price of oil - this includes Russia, Iran, and Venezuala, and this will deprive them of funds that they have been using to undercut America in as many ways as they could come up with. This is certainly a welcomed thing to all of us who care for America. Now is the time to encourage drilling offshore and in ANWR, clean coal and nuclear plants, and all kinds of alternate fuels to keep our energy prices low and us energy independent. This will also keep world prices low and apply the brakes to those who would use it against us.

It's also melting the ice in Antarctica!

Don’t forget, this will cut into the funds being used by Iran to gain nuclear power and be in a position to blackmail many countries throughout the Middle East and Europe. Russia will have to cut back on the rebuilding of their military and exporting their kind of blackmail. Then this will really put the boots to Chavez and end his exporting violence throughout South America. In other words, let’s not sit on our hands in a time when our energy needs are not critical, but continue to explore and expand on energy sources that are available to us. That doesn’t include all that hot air in Congress that is available daily and will continue to be in surplus.

The American people complain about the way we are perceived in foreign countries and resent it. However, their own politicians perceive them as worse, and they don’t seem to mind - for instance, Jack Murtha calls the people in his district “rednecks and racists” just before the election and they voted him back in!!! Obama said the people in Pennsylvania “were hung up on their guns and religion and have no empathy for others,” and Pennsylvania voted to give Obama its electoral votes. Now we have Harry Reid saying how the visitors and tourists who come to Washington smell. How’s that grab you? Now I understand that the 3/4 billion visitor center built in DC that saves Harry Reid from having to smell us common people.

Another thing I have heard but don’t know it for a fact is that the historical aspects of this center doesn’t even mention religion and its place in the history of this country. Without it, this country would never been formed and succeeded - no question. One thing I would say is that when Congress is not in session and Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and others of this type leave, DC must be a much cooler place with the hot air removed, and I am sure it smells better too.

I have heard so many people faulting President Bush for not giving hopeful speeches, and yet if he did the media would be on the sidelines mocking him and thus it would serve no purpose. The media was in love with Clinton and Obama and whatever they would say would be applauded and given breathless admiration. I have never seen a President so hated, especially by the fourth estate. It is matched only by the love and adulation for Obama. He even sends thrills down the leg of Chris Matthews, a member of the MSNBC political arm of the Democratic party. MSNBC stands for Most Stupid News Being Concocted. What recourse does the American people have when 70 percent are against the bailouts for financial companies, auto companies, and the unions, and yet it seems Congress is going to go along with this fiasco?

They call us names, go against our wishes, and yet they keep their jobs. My cry is: WHY? I have never cared so much for the health of the current President elect, but when you think who would follow Obama, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, I think you would agree with me that I should care. Can you imagine one of them as President - a nightmare! I can only hope that Obama governs as well as he ran his campaign. He defeated the Clintons - no small feat. Of course, he also defeated the Republican nominee who ran a sorry campaign but was handicapped by the burden of a sagging economy and having to run against the fourth estate also.

Would someone please explain to me how these bailouts are not leading to socialism and how this country that has been built on a free market and competition can still be the country we grew up with. It seems to me that if we continue in this manner, we may as well join the European Union. We cannot be the bulwark for freedoms throughout the world. If we allow ourselves to become a socialist state, we will sacrifice our strength, resilience, and competitiveness. Can you imagine the European Union being able to carry the staff of freedom against tyrants? See how they help us in NATO - or do they? Could they take over the 25 percent we pay to keep the UN viable? No, but that doesn’t mean I am for the UN. I think to close the UN down would be a better help to freedoms of all nations.

Too many shifting sands!

Any Republicans who vote for the bailout of the auto companies and their unions will probably also vote for the card check that the unions and Democrats wish for. Should they choose to vote for those items, they are actually giving aid and comfort to the Democratic base. How STUPID are they? We shall see. As far as the Democrats having a filibuster proof majority, they already do with McCain, Specter, Collins, and Snowe. The Republicans do not get the loyalty from their members that the Democrats do.
