The Democratic Congress and the media who say they are supportive of the troops are absolute liars. They have tried to contravene the efforts in Iraq after problems occurred with insugerents and al-Qaeda. They must have everything easy or give up and try to make everyone else give up too. They have practiced contravening since Vietnam, and have demonized General Westmoreland, even though it was McNamara’s war, a Democrat. They didn’t try to demonize him as they have Rumsfeld and Cheney. General Westmoreland, who wasn’t allowed to direct the war as he should have was forced to change in direction constantly by McNamara and LBJ.

Even though 98% of Congress agreed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, they have absolved themselves and blamed everything on Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. Then General Sanchez blasts the Iraq war and the media. They report his complaints about the war heavily, but keep the part about lambasting the media for their part in spreading dissension in the country and harming the troops under wraps. The media and the Democrats have not only harmed the troops, but have convinced people that the economy is bad, even though that is far from the truth. They have also, with their drum beats of gloom and doom, changed the opinion of the general population to be against victory because it isn’t easy.

As if this weren’t enough, the Democrats are contravening efforts to insure security for the American people. They are trying to take the teeth out of the phone surveillance act that was passed several months back. Not only that, but they are passing a resolution against genocide by the Turks 90 years ago to turn one of our most important allies against us and harm our logistics program for our servicemen in Iraq. They are still on a campaign to throw up the white flag of defeat. They are doing this against our troops for political purposes only. Their nightmare is our victory in Iraq before the 2008 election. I don’t believe they have passed a resolution of genocide against Sadaam for his genocide on the Kurds. How come?

Now as far as the Generals go, who retire and complain about how the war is being planned and carried out to the Democrats’ glee, they have every right to do so. During World War II, Generals didn’t retire while the war raged, and so none of them complained to make the Deomcratic party and those against the war happy. The most dissension in that war was our General Patton and the British General Montgomery. Too bad more of these Generals complaining today couldn’t be more like General Wainwright in World War II, who some say was abandoned by General MacArthur - he never complained on his return.

As far as the changes in Generals during this war, this has always been done in every war. Lincoln had General McClellan when the war started, and he was such a miserable failure that he had to be replaced. Several Generals later, Grant was given the task and was the right man at the right time and finished the tasks. God love the south if it had been Sherman. Had we had this media at that time, with all its avenues, the first two years of that war, with all its defeats, would have been hell for Lincoln and Secretary of War Stanton, who stayed in that job during the entire war. The media would have destroyed both Lincoln and Stanton, and Grant would have been lambasted as a drunk. We would have given up after two years as we did in Vietnam. Moveon.org would have had a field day back then, so would have Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Matthews, David Gregory, Keith Olbermann, and the other magpies of the liberal media.

When ex-General McClellan ran against Lincoln for the Presidency on a platform of making peace with the south and stopping the war, with this liberal media, he would have won - then what? Another thing - had Germany and Japan had insurgency groups striking after World War II, their reforms, their economies, and restructuring of their country would have been far more of a problem than it was.

The military in this war has had a far harder task than after any war ever. I know that the Democrats and the liberal media expect them to work miracles. Miracles can only occur by someone who they are unfamiliar with. I wonder if the Democratic Congress has nightmares by the ghosts of the young servicemen they have helped to kill.
