Propaganda at the end of primrose path

The Congress, both the Democrats and the Republicans, are on a give-away binge - the Democrats on a propaganda tour with the changes in the S-chip program, and the Republicans being led by the nose because of the coming election. Nevermind that some states are using these funds for adults, and many families covered by their company’s insurance program or private insurance will immediately transfer their children to this new S-chip change. If this isn’t the first step to socialized medicine, I don’t know what is.
The Republicans have allowed themselves to be led by the nose by the Democrats’ propaganda machine for years, even the short time the Republicans were in the majority. That’s why the environmentalists took control of the economy. Now they have led the Republicans by the nose into the fields of global warming, with vast subsidies for turning various crops into a form of alcohol. Moonshiners were doing this many years ago with no subsidy.

With no scientific proof, the environmentalists have led the country down the primrose path of blaming fossil fuels for the destruction of the environment. If the Republicans had any backbone, they would come up with a program to cure our energy needs by drilling in ANWR off the continental shelf, and using the oil from shale in the western states. That would solve our balance of payment problems. Then take all the subsidies for alternate fuels and have the auto companies kick in a few billion for a moon landing type program to find means for arriving at a volume of hydrogen to eliminate the need for fossile fuels. This would solve a lot of our defense problems taking away the money used for tools of terror from the Middle East, stopping Russia in their tracks to dominate the Balkan countries by use of their oil and gas reserves.
In the 90’s, the Senate ethics committee, headed by Mitch McConnell, investigated Bob Packwood, Republican Senator of Oregon. The conclusions were that he used aggressive, blantant sexual advances, and physical coercion towards women - and that was connected to his power as a Senator. He resigned in disgrace. Now let us delve into the aggressive, blantant sexual advances, and physical coercion towards women, connected to his power as President, one Bill Clinton. Packwood resigned, not so Clinton - need I say more? Guess who voted against impeachment?
- Arlen Specter
- Jim Jeffords
- John Chafee
- Olympia Snowe
- Susan Collins
- Slade Gorton
- Richard Shelby
- Ted Stevens
- John Warner
- and last, but not least FRED THOMPSON
- Forget sactions against Iran, they won’t work. Blockade their imported gas supplies and force a regime change.
- As far as I am concerned, this country is giving moral aid and comfort to the terrorists in Saudi Arabia. If we didn’t protect them and we allowed al-Qaeda to take over their country, there wouldn’t be any change in the way they employ terrorism.
- I and many, many others think that Larry Craign should resign. If he doesn’t, I think the ethics committee, after the investigation, should expel him the same as Bob Packwood. Also, this should have been done to Barney Frank and Gary Studds. Barney used his house for male prostitution, and Gary got a 16 year old page drunk and then molested him. At least the Republicans forced Mark Foley to resign. They encouraged Craig to resign as well.
- How come Scooter Libby was convicted of giving false testimony and prosecuted? Clinton was convicted of giving false testimony, and he WASN’T prosecuted. Are their two kinds of justice, and is this a double standard?
