Just got through watching Chris Wallace’s program on Fox with Karl Rove. I had stopped watching his program quite some time ago because of his ultra liberal leanings. I wanted to see what he would do against the Democrats’ favorite scape goat in the Bush administration. You would think Patrick Leahy was questioning him instead of Chris Wallace, although they are both of the Democratic party. Guess I won’t be watching this program anymore. In fact, Fox was my source of news until they went to ‘entertainment’ and a forum for liberals. Now I have turned to the internet.

The Democrats don’t realize it, but they have a friend in Fox. Liberals on Fox include Chris Wallace, Geraldo Rivera, Alan Combs, Juan Williams, Nina Easton, Shepard Smith, Mort Kondracke, Jeff Birnbaum, and the list goes on. There may be as many conservatives, however, they are not as loud. A lot of these liberal news sources on Fox are so loud because of their illogical hatred and loathing for Bush. So again I say, it’s back to the internet for me. If I wanted news about Lindsey Lohan, Brittney Spears, Paris Hilton, and the other sluts, I would buy a Globe, Star, or some such.

They did, at one time, give more news than Hollywood fluff, but unfortunately that has changed. Their final act of hiring Geraldo Rivera and giving him a program of his own was a signal to their demise and an end to viewership growth above CNN and MSNBC. I wouldn’t be surprised if they hired Chris Matthews next and then Keith Olbermann.

Please tell me how young people can learn to trust government when they live in cities and towns who declare themselves sanctuaries, and those cities and towns do not follow the federal laws. I am sure it confuses them as to what laws they should scoff at and if they should follow any laws they don’t like. Newark, New Jersey has already received its punishment for their breaking of the law. If Newark remains a sanctuary city after this, then we will know that our type of democracy will not survive. This is a case of where they fooled them twice. Who bears the responsibility for the family of three killed by an illegal driving under the influence? Do you think their relatives may be a little bitter towards their government’s failure in carrying out the law and subsequently placing this family of three into a path of danger with a deadly consequence?

I saw a poll showing 58% of American citizens wanting the government to withhold funds to sanctuaries. This would of course involve transportation and education funds. This is a tool the government has used for seatbelt laws, drinking age laws, and so forth. So why not use this to force the compliance of federal law in this case? Hit ‘em in the pocketbook. This could also be used in funds devoted to terrorist attacks by the Homeland Security Department. I think New York would capitulate immediately and other large cities following the same path. There are millions and millions of government funds involved.

I don’t hold Clinton and Bush responsible. I do hold the U.S. Congress at fault. Instead of investigating constantly, they could enact legislative programs to end this immigration problem.

This ongoing Hurricane Dean reminds me of Katrina - the consequences of which were laid at Bush’s door. The real blame should have gone to Mayor Ray Nagin and Governor Blanco. Nagin let 500 buses sit idly when transportation was such a vital issue. He and Blanco did nothing to help, and then attacked Bush for their own ineptness. Not only that, but Nagin was re-elected mayor, and act of sublime ignorance - a case of not learning lessons the first time… Nagin fooled them twice. Was this caused by the O.J. syndrome? I fear this is what will happen in the way we approach the immigration problems. Blocks of voters voting in mass for their own selfish motives is a danger to democracy the way the electoral college is configurated. God help the USA.

Drunk Driver of Fatal Crash Believed to be an Illegal Immigrant

There are still a lot of questions about the suspected drunk driver who killed a woman and two of her children while driving under the influence on Christmas Eve.

Carlos Prieto is in the Salt Lake County Jail. In the past couple of hours we’ve learned that he’s been in Utah at least a couple of years and that he may be in the country illegally.

Prieto was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion on vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and driving without a license. Prosecutors are still screening the case, and formal charges are expected tomorrow morning.

Police arrested Prieto on Christmas Eve morning, when he ran a red light at the intersection of 5400 South and 700 East in Murray, and broadsided a car carrying the Ceran family. Cheryl Ceran, her son, Ian, and daughter, Julianna, died. Gary Ceran and two other children survived.

Jail documents reveal that when police arrived at the scene, Prieto smelled strongly of alcohol and had glassy, bloodshot eyes. Prieto admitted to police, he had five beers before getting behind the wheel.

A check of court records didn’t bring up any previous arrests, but we learned that two years ago Prieto was cited for speeding and driving without a license. That case was resolved in Salt Lake County Justice Court, after he paid a fine.

A spokesperson for Immigration and Customs Enforcement told me they have interviewed Prieto and believe he is a Mexican national and here illegally.

ICE has issued a hold on him, so he can be turned over to them once the criminal against him is resolved.
