Let’s take responsibility for our Republic!
Now in the winter of my discontent, my thoughts go to the future, if there will be one. Always have had a belief that to have a Republic to thrive takes the citizens of all kinds and stripes to take responsibility to make sure that the Republic endures. This is not happening. It would seem that if not most but at least a great minority of the citizens are caught up in the pursuit of self-gratification - whatever is easy, fun and fast so they can
move on to other fun things. Should circumstances occur where discipline is required from all citizens to protect the Republic, what will happen???
I am not the least bit encouraged by the youth of today. Their knowledge of their government is abysmal. From what I have seen, the seventh grade students from the fifties and back knew more about their government than the average college graduates of today. Apparently, the colleges of today feel that American history is of so little consequence and should not be taught. They feel that students should be taught to listen, think, digest, and arrive at conclusions as long as it’s the professor’s conclusion, which usually is “America is BAD”, and “We have done bad things thoughout our history and deserve to be punished”. I am sure they would even condemn the Marshall Plan, our participation in World War I, World War II, and Korea. Our military over the centuries has enabled these professors to have their jobs and be able to twist history as they do.

Our Military has enabled Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs, and even George Soros (the shame of the Jewish nation) to amass their wealth. I won’t say they didn’t work for their wealth, but I doubt they have ever given tribute to the Military for the opportunities they were given. Of course we have Hollywood, who likes the Military as long as they can make movies about heroes to increase their bott
om line, then on their own, they can try to undermind mor
ality, trash the Lincoln bedroom, make fun of personal integrity, and do other things that I find despicable. You can see what matters the most, especially to the young Americans… Rosie and Donald, Matt and Shirley, Pete and Repeat, Johnny Depp and his French connection. They say the pendulum swings - let’s hope to God it does (YES I SAID GOD!)
