I watched the interview of Sarah Palin by Chris Wallace. I thought that he was condescending and arrogant. He brought up how there have been more attacks via predator drones during this administration than what was used by the Bush administration. Like many technical advances, drones have improved. Had Hussein been in charge of military procurement, the predators would never have been constructed. They would have been invaluable in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, but they weren’t there. Is that their fault? I say again, had Hussein been the one to push building and advancing these predators, they wouldn’t be here.
Now I hear one of Hussein’s strongest constituencies, the ACLU, is trying to stop us using these drones. Any time we can use them or any other advance to save young American lives, we should do it. No doubt, there will be more advances of these in the future – even with the Democrats and Hussein in power. The next administration I hope, in 2012, will be able to use these advances to protect servicemen and servicewomen now and in the future.
I am still trying to fathom how the loss of 20,000 jobs last week led to a drop in the unemployment rate. Will wonders never cease? I question every statistic this administration puts out, and so do a lot of other Americans because of the lack of trust. Trust is a commodity he doesn’t have much of. Transparency, union deals, bribery, etc. doesn’t lead to trust. He was going to make the rest of the world have higher regard for the USA. I believe he has failed miserably. There is no doubt he is a great orator. He can talk and talk with the aid of his teleprompter, but he has been unable to walk the walk. That won’t get it done.
This administration has never gotten out of the campaign mode.
Now I hear Hussein is going to televise the next health care meeting and have the Republicans included. I will believe he will include Republicans when tort reform and insurance sold across state lines is included and no special deals are made for unions, various Senators, and Congressmen. If this doesn’t happen, what’s the point – just another waste of time and money – another instance of preening, getting television coverage, and caressing their ego.
- Social security wouldn’t be a problem if Congress hadn’t authorized the raiding of social security years ago when they started spending it for social programs.
- What made Hussein realize there was another party?
- Toyota recalling thousands of cars, to fix them – do you suppose if Hussein was recalled, could he be fixed?
- Who is President – Eric Holder or Hussein?
- The evil men do lives after them…
written by Declan McCullagh says police want backdoor to web users’ private data. Just change police to White House and all their shenanigans to get information on people. Police requesting this is a cover for the White House. They tried with the Health Care bill and they will keep trying. This is clearly an attack on the Fourth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment says the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated and no warranty shall isssue, but upon probably cause supported by oath or affirmation and particularly describing the place to be searched and the person or things to be seized.
This action is clearly requested to silence dissent and frighten web users. I know this is clearly a weapon for Eric Holder and his minions to use. I hope, should this happen, that the case would be promptly submitted to the Supreme Court.
I recently likened Hussein to a snake oil salesman, but really should be classified as a bunco artist, who is a charlatan, cheat, counterfeit, trickster, fake, faker, flimflammer, fourflusher, fraud, hoser, humbug, and impostor. The trickster and all his minions hired for political reasons and not their ability to do their jobs are all tax cheats and liars, in many cases voted in and then decide to disclose their lies – not one with any business expertise… all academia from colleges or universities, that are ultra-liberal and out of touch with the common man. In fact they have a very low opinion of the common man or woman.
This administration lies, cheats, and does anything they choose to do. An instance of this is when the union leaders went into the White House, came out in a very short time and had their 40 percent tax eliminated from their insurance policies. However, everyone else’s remains. I have seen so many instances of skulduggery with this administration and the unions that I try to avoid buying any product made with union labor – Government Motors and Chrysler will never get my business.
With massive amounts of the Stimulus bill left, why couldn’t that be used for a jobs bill instead of a slush fund for the Hussein administration? The trickster got the news media all over saying how the unemployment rate went DOWN. This is not true… figures don’t lie, but liars figure! Twenty thousand jobs were lost last week and the unemployment rate went down… just who is behind that curtain?
Hussein religiously beats the truth to death, or in other words he lies. Let’s look at the deficits during Bush’s last term and Hussein’s first year.
- Deficit 2005: $318 billion
- Deficit 2006: $248 billion
- Deficit 2007: $172 billion
- Deficit 2008: $454.8 billion
- Obama’s first year 2009: $1.42 trillion – in other words, Hussein’s deficit in one year is as much as Bush’s in four years. Draw your own conclusions, but don’t believe a word Hussein says.
I have been voting since Eisenhower’s election for his last term. I have never feared for my country with all the following Presidents until THIS ONE. I really do believe he is trying to socialize this country and take away this country’s special connection to the world. And I do believe this country is special among all the countries in the world, and I don’t believe he does. Do you?
Thank God Hussein wasn’t President on 9/11. He would have waited three days as his usual wont in all crisis. His certitude, character, truth, trust, integrity, and honesty are not in question… we already know what they are.
The Democrats have kept Scott Brown from taking his seat in order to get nominees in critical jobs that are not only unsavory, but real dirt bags. Kennedy was appointed in one day. Niki Tsongas took two days. Scott Brown waits for two weeks. Find out for yourselves how your representative and Senators voted for these scoundrels.
Another item of interest is how Hussein slipped in the budget the $200 million to prosecute the five terrorists to be brought from Gitmo. Guess what he put it in under…. the FEMA budget. I thought FEMA was for disasters. No question about it, it is a disaster to try them in a civilian court.
Thanks to Hussein’s policies, seniors are hurting with no cost of living increase and his policies forced my state to cancel our homestead exemption… that really hurts.
Ever believe those polls on Hussein’s popularity were truthful? Just look at the following. Do you think NBC, CBS, and Gallup are trying to help his ratings?
As I look out, I long for climate warming. But here we sit, at the start of another ice age. The grants that have been given to study climate warming and protect us from ourselves are in danger because of the false data, lies, chicanery, and apparent misconduct of these scientists. I guess they had to resort to these methods because they might have to take a REAL job – actually work… this would be so sad. Even this administration has fallen for this climate warming crap. But, again, the American people see through these shenanigans and will not put their trust in this. When these scientists hid certain facts, use lies to cover up facts they didn’t like, destroyed data and then failed to give data when applied for by the Freedom of Information Act, they used up all the credibility they ever had. Transparency is really not in play by these researchers – or crooks – whatever you wish to call them. It is in line with Hussein’s transparency – ALL LIES!
Diogenes would be crying during his journey to find an honest man these days. He would be avoiding Washington D.C., Wall Street, and especially Hussein.
I hear Hussein calling for a reduction in the deficit. The last budget of his, he raised all the bureaucratic agencies budgets by 20 percent and more. He gave federal workers massive raises… and NOW he talks DEFICIT… how HYPOCRITICAL can one be? They just raised the debt ceiling again to have more money to spend. Strange there wasn’t enough money to give seniors a cost of living increase – first time EVER! He really FEELS OUR PAIN! He wanted to take $500 billion from the Medicare fund and is considering ways to take some of the benefits away from seniors.
I want to take a little time to accuse the Democratic party for their ill feelings towards our military. The Clinton administration sure didn’t like the military, but in relation to how the Hussein administration views the military, Clinton was like a loving uncle. Prosecuting Navy Seals and CIA agents for doing their jobs to protect us is SHAMEFUL! Changing the rules of engagement for our military, to place their lives in more risk, is hideous.
Following is a list of scoundrels allowing the prosecution of Navy Seals and CIA agents:
- Congressman Joe Sestak (retired Admiral)
- Senator Jim Webb (ex-Marine)
- Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
- Admiral Mike Mullen (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff)
- Director of CIA Leon Panetta
Hussein pretty much says “It’s my way or the highway!” If he continues on his current path, there will be many Democrats hitting the highway in November’s elections. They didn’t help themselves by demeaning the tea party and town hall people by endearing themselves to those people as they did. I am sure they will vote for those Democrats to repay them. Me thinks that Hussein speaks with forked-tongue and lies his a– off. I wonder if one side of his mouth knows what the other said. It goes back to talk the talk which does not lead to walk the walk.
I was surprised how he talked about “no lobbyists”, as he is surrounded by those he appointed. I would very much like to know what his idea of transparency and openness is.
I got the idea that treating terrorists in a dignified manner will be as far as he will go against terrorism. I believe he is as soft as a baby’s bottom that the terrorists can hardly wait to spank. Blaming the 50 minute interview of the Christmas bomber on the FBI when it was Eric Holder and more of that dignity crap is shameful and just like a typical Democrat. I guess that’s why Eric Holder had the 16 FALN terrorists pardoned – twas a matter of DIGNITY. I guess he wanted Marc Rich, the master criminal, to have DIGNITY when he had this crook pardoned. I guess he is a soft, compassionate man. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell to you.
Hussein’s campaign speeches during his run for President sounded great, but now they are sounding hollow. He is a compulsive liar and has lost all his veracity and trust by the American people. Once trust is lost, it can never be regained. When I was a young man, a man’s word was his bond. That has never been true for Hussein. One thing that offended me was his attack on the Supreme Court. I guess he was making a play on words, trying to do what FDR attempted to do. I don’t believe that our Supreme Court can be bullied – especially when they took an action that was sorely needed.
There is not one thing he promised during his campaign he has accomplished. I have never seen a more compulsive liar in my lifetime. This is a sickness, and unfortunately I must be the one to label his ailment. Hussein is a .
I noticed Nancy Pelosi doing her Jack-in-the-box routine during the speech. I saw Harry Reid was so bored – even seen him yawn. I bet he really doesn’t want Hussein campaigning for him this Fall. Hussein seems to place the kiss of death on those he campaigns for, still blaming the previous administration, and in doing so telling one lie after another. There is a program on television where addicts are treated. He could go in as a person addicted to lying. Perhaps he could spend a few weeks there. I know it would take quite awhile for him to be cured. I have a suggestion – that Congress open ALL conference rooms and keeping them open during hearings for the sausage making of bills and legislation, with CSPANS cameras rolling for the people… would be nice.
William Jennings Bryan was a silver-tongued orator also. No doubt Hussein is as well, and is in a class with Ronald Reagan, William Jennings Bryan, and Everett Dirksen, but the character isn’t there. No one realized that Chicago-style politics would be used, COMPLETELY, in his administration. I can’t see why even rabid Democrats and those trained in the use of talk, talk, and talk haven’t figured him out by now.
Tea party and town hall folk are the people he says are too stupid to know what’s good for them. His followers were really caught up in his promises, and apparently didn’t require delivery. He is heading towards 500 speeches. They are beginning to sound like waves gently kissing the shore and good to sleep by. I see no mention of “We the people”. This administration believes WE are too stupid to fathom the elitist effort to HELP us.
I saw where Hussein was displeased with the latest Supreme Court decision. He didn’t seem concerned with the unions, George Soros, or ACORN. I wonder why. Didn’t he get most of his campaign finance funds from big banks, insurance companies, Pharmaceutical corporations, and other entities like GE, Google, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and other fat wallets? Fully 60 percent of people listening to Hussein’s speeches don’t believe a single word of his. They think “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me; fool me three times, and I am the fool!”
Hussein gave a nice campaign speech in Ohio – brings home the fact that you can fool some of the people all of the time. You can’t feign passion, and it’s for sure he has none. Everyone of his speeches is having less effect. He has worn out his message. Every speech he gives, less and less people watch or listen to it… even some of his idol worshipers on NBC, MSNBC, ABC, and CBS. The only ones considering him an idol now are NPR and PBS. There, he has use of the tax payers dime. At least those who voted against him are having to listen to fewer excuses, praise, and worship.
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are his toadies, and Eric Holder is a monster he let loose on the American people. His appointees are all tax cheats. Some were found out before they got in, including Tom Daschle. Actually, the biggest crook and tax cheat in the Democratic party is Charlie Rangel, and he is Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee!! This Democratic administration, from Hussein down, has no ethics, character, or integrity. Can’t you just visualize Hussein sitting in a corner saying over and over “I am the GREAT I AM, that’s who I AM!”?
It is not only the federal government, but states are facing massive changes in their ability to be financially viable. Let’s take California… 85 percent of the 235,000 California’s state workers are unionized. This past decade, pension costs in California have risen 2000 percent. State revenues only increased 24 percent. The unfunded liability for pension costs in California are $63.5 billion! This is a problem for every state that has pension liabilities for their state union workers. Something will have to give, or every state will be subjected to bankruptcy. I would like to see a compilation of unfunded mandates by every state. I think the total would be far more scary than our national debt of $12.3 trillion. Perhaps the liberals will stop trying to unionize every Tom, Dick, and Harry and be more careful in handing out massive pension plans mandated for the future. This will far exceed the health care in mandated monies and Congress should well be investigating how this problem can be contained. It will never be SOLVED.
Hussein brought to Washington the Chicago style politics, and it infected Congress to the extent that those style politics of bribery, fraud, and payoffs (as were used in the health care bill), and normal people reacted normally.
President Hussein’s State of the Union Address will contain all things he thinks most people will believe, even though he was in bed with these same people. In other words, he will be changing the subject. He will vilify banks, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and anyone else he thinks will generate hate among the electorate. These same people, you can see, he receives most of his campaign funds from. He made behind-the-door deals with banks, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and large corporations. He bought himself a major corporation and their news company, and I am speaking of General Electric, which has been getting fantastic deals from Hussein and it’s for sure that NBC and MSNBC follows Hussein’s line – whatever it is. Even the Democrats know this.
If you’ve noticed, when Hussein went to Massachusetts to assist Coakley, he put down the town hall people, the tea party, and truck drivers. Of course, he didn’t knock the Teamsters! He still hasn’t got the message that the President is supposed to be for ALL citizens – not for just elitists. The average citizen has already seen the Emperor has no clothes. He will not gain any strength by trying to scare the American people with all those other monsters he will be conjuring up. Maybe someday he will realize that American citizens are much smarter than he thinks and the tea party members and people crowding the town halls are smarter than the average bear. There are still people who believe in the Constitution even though Hussein does not.
Now the Democratic administration wants to raise the debt ceiling AGAIN. Why not use the leftover tarp funds and stimulus package funds to re-track some of those crass programs, sending billions to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other friends of the Hussein administration? One of these friends is GE, the greatest friend to Hussein. The Republicans should vote against this attack on the financial interests of Americans. This health care bill didn’t even take effect until 2014, except for the taxes – which would have started immediately. The Democrats are all aghast by the Supreme Court’s decision that corporations can now donate to campaigns. They didn’t seem to mind the unions spending millions for Democratic campaigns. The Democrats don’t seem to like a level playing field. It still remains true that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were the cause of the financial meltdown.
President Bush had tried to put the brakes on Fannie and Freddie, but Barney Frank and Chris Dodd said everything was fine and the Democrats wouldn’t allow Bush to do it. Not only that, but the Democrats forced the banks to make bad loans. That was easily forgotten. When Hussein starts talking about the banks large bonuses, will he condemn the large bonuses to Fannie and Freddie executives who caused this meltdown?
I watched the pundits on television saying what happened in Massachusetts and why. From what I can see, it is peoples’ objections to the Louisiana Purchase, the Nebraska Compromise, and the deal made just for union members. These are criminal acts in the minds of many American citizens. The people consider this bribery and abandonment of the concept of equality of all. Their failure of including tort reform and being able to buy insurance across state lines to enable them to get a better price for their insurance needs is partly responsible for their great loss in Massachusetts. The people see how this administrations talks of the horrible insurance companies and pharmaceutical corporations, and yet they give them deals in closed-door sessions. There has to be a reason for the insurance companies and pharmaceutical corporations to back this health care bill. If you noticed, Martha Coakley, on her trip to Washington for campaign funds, met with some of these insurance and pharmaceutical people.
The Democrats mantra of transparency goes on even though they only met behind closed doors. The absence of sunlight tends to the growth of mushrooms and the Democratic health care bill is one of a poisoned variety. The Louisiana Purchase is another one of those poisoned mushrooms. The Nebraska Compromise is also poisonous. The most poisonous mushroom of all, by far, was the union mushroom. I say, these are the reasons that Brown was elected. This country was founded on fairness, and that sense of fairness still exists with the majority of Americans. This stops some of the nefarious actions by Congress, but arrogance still exists and nefarious acts will always be undertaken.
As far as the health care bill passing, I wouldn’t bet against it. I am sure that there has already been obscene offers made to RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) to insure the passage of this bill. Let’s hope that Mr. Brown goes to Washington has as much meaning as the movie Mr. Smith goes to Washington – played by Jimmy Stewart. I don’t think the Democrats gained much traction by putting down the town hall and tea party people. Putting down American citizenry does not engender trust. I would say, this is what the Hussein administration lacks more of than anything else – TRUST.
The giving of rights to terrorists in civilian trials was one of those trust-busters. Buying of votes is another trust-buster. Giving aid and comfort to the unions over other REAL Americans is a trust-buster. Blaming all of his mistakes on President Bush… another trust-buster. I am sure Bush was the one who had Socrates drink the Hemlock poison, helped Alexander the Great to defeat Persia, and had Nero burn Rome. I never heard President Harry Truman blame FDR for any of his policies, but put a sign on his desk “The buck stops here!” I never heard Eisenhower blame Truman for his failures. I never heard President JFK blame Eisenhower for his failures. I never heard LBJ blame JFK for his failures. This administration and all its cohorts have done nothing but blame all of their failures on President Bush.
Unless and until Hussein ever accepts his own failures, he will never be truly the Commander in Chief. Prosecuting CIA agents and Navy Seals after they have done their jobs and placed their lives on the line, they are prosecuted. Sure doesn’t build trust. His arrogance and ego will have to go before he ever gains the trust of the American citizens. If Hussein had had the American people in mind, he would have immediately changed the Democrats’ mindset against drilling for oil. It would help Americans with their expenses, help to improve our balance of payments and keep us from buying oil from foreign countries who don’t have America’s interest at heart, using part of that money to underwrite terrorism. The giving of rights to terrorists that is intended and provided for Americans is not only wrong, but foolish and stupid!
I can hardly wait for this health care debacle to be voted in. Then I won’t have to worry about keeping myself healthy. Hussein’s medical board or death squad, whatever you wish to call it, will decide what I need or don’t need. Being 78 and on medicare, I won’t be making many trips to doctors offices. Isn’t it nice that doctors won’t have to prescribe? Just send your medical profile to the death squad and ask them if it’s time you should go. Thank God that medical board won’t be able to send me to the same place George Soros is going, as well as half of Wall Street and three quarters of our politicians – especially those voting in this monstrosity of a bill to screw the American people. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi… I hear your names being called immediately after Barney Frank and Charlie Rangel.
This health care bill is the most unpopular of any bill ever enacted in Congress and the voice of the American people is not only not heard – it’s DISREGARDED! More crooks and bribery have been uncovered during this proceeding than ever before. Mary Landrieu, Ben Nelson, Chris Dodd, Kent Conrad, Max Baucus, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and the Democrat list goes on – these thugs are marching to a different drummer than the American citizens. I guess deadbeats have their own beats to march to. This bill’s negotiations have been as transparent as a painted-over window; as bipartisan as a Hatfield and McCoy homecoming.
I am praying that Scott Brown will be elected and a possibility that the Democrats won’t have a filibuster-proof majority to cram in bills that the majority of people don’t want. Another bit of skulduggery just happened. The unions got a pass on taxes for Cadillac health care plans. But other citizens will not get this pass. Academia rules in the Hussein administration and somehow they think that inequality makes equality. So much for the minds of academia. Notice how the Hussein administration is composed of academia. All other Presidents had a majority, in their administration, of business managers who know how the economy works. Words written by someone else and read off of a teleprompter by a talented speaker do not make an inept policy work.

Obama’s rapturous style versus tea party substance
By:
Senior Political Analyst
January 13, 2010
Taxpayers rally at a “tea party” April 15, 2009 in Winchester, Virginia. (Examiner photo/Byron York) In his New York Times column last week, David Brooks contrasted “the educated class,” which supports Barack Obama and his liberal worldview, with the tea party movement, “a large, fractious confederation of Americans who are defined by what they are against, … the concentrated power of the educated class.”
Many conservatives read Brooks as putting down the tea partiers. I think he was indicating distaste for both sides. “I’m not a fan” of the tea party movement, he wrote, but he also noted, “Every single idea associated with the educated class has grown more unpopular over the year.”
Still, it sounds like Brooks was indulging the conceit of so many liberals that they are, well, simply smarter than conservatives.
But when you look back over the surges of enthusiasm in the politics of the last two years, you see something like this: The Obama enthusiasts who dominated so much of the 2008 campaign cycle were motivated by style. The tea party protesters who dominated so much of 2009 were motivated by substance.
Remember those rapturous crowds that swooned at Barack Obama’s rhetoric. “We are the change we are seeking,” he proclaimed. “We will be able to look back and tell our children,” that “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
A lot of style there, but not very much substance. A Brookings Institution scholar who produced nothing more than that would soon be looking for a new job.
In retrospect, the Obama enthusiasts seem to have been motivated by a yearning for a rapturous, nuanced leader. Send that terrible tyrant with his tortured sentences and moral certitude back to Texas and install The One in the White House, and all would be well.
The Obama enthusiasts have achieved that goal, and perhaps it’s not surprising that, as polls show, they’re not much engaged in the details of the health care bills or cap-and-trade legislation or looming tax increases and the like. They, or at least most of them, were never much interested in those things anyway.
In contrast, the tea party protesters, many of them as fractious and loudmouthed as David Brooks thinks, are interested in substantive political issues. They decry the dangers of expanding the national debt, increasing government spending, and putting government in command of the health care sector.
Their concerns have basis in fact. The national debt is on a trajectory to double as a percentage of the economy over 10 years, and the Democrats’ health care bills threaten to bend the cost curve up. Higher taxes could choke off economic recovery and keep unemployment up near double-digit rates for years.
Last year’s stimulus bill surreptitiously raised the budget baseline for many domestic spending programs and sent money to state and local governments — a payoff to the public employee unions who spent more than $100 million to elect Democrats in 2008.
Agree with the tea party folk or not, these are substantive public policy issues of fundamental importance.
Or look at other issues on which Brooks notes, correctly, that Americans have been moving away from positions “associated with the educated class.”
The educated class thinks that gun control can reduce crime. But over the last 15 years, crime rates have plummeted thanks to Giuliani-type police tactics and while 40 states have laws permitting law-abiding citizens to get licenses to carry concealed weapons.
“The educated class believes in global warming,” Brooks notes. But ordinary Americans have been noticing that temperatures have not been rising in the last decade as climate scientists’ models predicted, and they may have noticed those Climategate e-mails that show how climate scientists have been jiggering the statistics and suppressing opposing views.
On these issues the educated class is faith-based and the ordinary Americans who increasingly reject their views are fact-based, just as the Obama enthusiasts are motivated by style and the tea partiers by substance.
As the educated class bitterly clings to its contempt for the increasing numbers not enlightened enough to share its views, other Americans have noticed, even in the liberal heartland of Massachusetts, where Republican Scott Brown seems on the brink of an upset victory in the special Senate election next Tuesday. That would have reverberations for the educated class an awful lot like that tea party back in 1773.

Noemie Emery: Obama’s education of little use to his presidency
By:
Examiner Columnist
January 13, 2010David Brooks notes that in the last year, something dire has happened: The public has turned decisively against the “educated classes” and all of their works. At the same time, it has also moved against Barack Obama, who began his term with approval ratings that bumped up against 70, and have now sunk to the high to mid-40s, with “strongly disapprove” ratings that rival those of George W. Bush at his worst.
It has also moved strongly against his — and the educated classes’ — ideas. It is more pro-life, more anti-climate change, more free market, less statist, more inclined to favor “harsh” measures against terrorism suspects, more in favor of “waterboarding” the terrorist caught in the brief-bombing effort, more opposed to the closing of Guantanamo Bay.
While the liberal Left controls the White House along with both houses of Congress, the country it governs has moved to the Right. These phenomena are all interrelated: The country is moving Right in reaction to Obama’s theories of governance, and Obama and the educated class are one and the same.
He epitomizes that class and was sold by that class to the country, which purchased the product and has come to regret it. It now wants its money returned.
In a sense, Obama has never been more than his education (Columbia, Harvard), which for some people was more than enough. When Brooks met Obama in 2005, the new senator had no experience and no accomplishments, but he was perfectly briefed in the requisite talking points.
“As they chewed over the finer points of Edmund Burke, it didn’t take long for the two men to click,” Gabriel Sherman wrote in the New Republic. On the basis of this, Brooks decided Obama was “dazzling,” would one day become “a very good president” and should run for that office as quickly as possible. He compared him to Burke in his subtle complexity.
“Run, Barack, Run,” he wrote a year later, on the grounds that crisis required his talents. “I divide people into people who talk like us and who don’t talk like us,” he admitted to Sherman. He then paid Obama the ultimate compliment, by saying he could write for the New Republic himself.
He was hardly alone. People in newsrooms all over the country decided that someone who talked the way they did was the cure for what ailed the country, and are stunned to find out it is not.
His cosmopolitan cool hasn’t defanged the terrorists, who still want to kill us, disarmed North Korea or derailed Iran’s bomb. His knowledge of Burke hasn’t united the country, which is now more divided and angry than ever.
Obama, Brooks concedes, has “recoiled” the country, but seems at a loss to say why.
Could it be that The One has misjudged both the times and the country?; that he made a strategic mistake in pushing for health care (and a tactical one in trusting the Congress)?; that he created a nightmare for most in his party, who face epic losses this year? Heaven forfend.
To acknowledge this is to indict their own judgment, to face the fact they themselves may be less than insightful, that “talking like us” means next to nothing, and that writing for magazines doesn’t equip one for greatness, or leadership. In fact, it only equips one to write for more magazines.
And what does this say? That our “educated class” is educated beyond its intelligence, and mistakes mastery of its patois and attitude for wisdom and competence.
It is full of itself, and values too highly its skill sets, which are entertaining, but not on the optimum level of consequence. On this optimum level are resolution, moral clarity, and an ability to understand and connect with a great many people, things for which the chattering class is not known. This class fooled itself, and much of the country, for which the country will not soon forgive it.
Obama is president, but he isn’t a good one, and he has long ceased to dazzle. He and the educated classes rose (briefly) together, and his failures and fall are their own.
Hussein, his administration, and the Democratic Congress (made up of academia) hate the people of the tea parties, but I would say any member of the tea party has more common sense than any five academia. Senator Schumer calls Scott Brown a “tea bagger”, in the usual Democratic way of putting people down. Looking at the record of Martha Coakley, she is definitely not a tea bagger, but shows how she has no concern about child molestation. Schumer should be careful. There could be some tea party people in New York. Martha Coakley is some smart lady. She has figured out before anyone else that there are no al-Qaeda remaining in Afghanistan!
Instead of having gas tankers coming from Yemen with a possibility of a horrendous explosion, we should be allowing drilling for natural gas and oil. There is a very great amount of natural gas in Alaska that could be transported via pipelines. The price of oil is now being manipulated and Hussein could make some jobs by having about 10 investigators to check on these speculators doing this, prosecuting the crooks instead of CIA agents and Navy seals.
For their health care program, this Democratic Congress took $500 billion from Medicare, put it in a box and checked it twice. I guess they thought the American people were not nice.
Democrats and crazy environmentalists don’t allow drilling off the coast, even though the Virginia governor asked for it to be done. What ever happened to states rights for all the states along the coast? Guess they don’t have any. Hussein doesn’t think any Americans have any rights not approved by the Democrat Socialists in his administration and Mr. Ego himself. He is a haughty elitist, egotistical, all-about-me person – also, did I say ARROGANT? It’s time he tries to forget about ME and work for the COUNTRY. It’s doubtful he could ever put ME on the back-burner. His prosecuting CIA agents and Navy Seals for doing their jobs is beyond reason and his thinking processes are contaminated with his feelings of his massive self-image. I wish he was as good as his self-image, then we would have an actual President – will NEVER happen – with his promoted cap & trade and refusing to allow drilling in our country, and you can thank Hussein, the Democrats, and the stupid environmentalists for this.
By not allowing drilling, there will be an unbearable burden on the American people to go to work and for other necessary driving. Electric bills for heating homes and businesses will go through the roof and it will kill the American economy. So, citizens… it is up to you to vote these people OUT, improve our balance of payments with other countries by drilling, see the price of fuel and heating oil drop dramatically, the world price of oil will drop, and those countries that hate us so (smiling, sitting on their treasure in oil) will have frowns on their faces and no money to fund the terrorists for their operations.
When you go to buy gas, remember speculators are making BIG bucks off YOU and terrorists are being underwritten. When you hear the environmentalists spout their poison, remember… they are not patriots, but cancers on the American economy and there is no cure for this type of cancer. The environmentalists have, in effect, formed their own religion. They are joined in this religion by the global scientists who manufacture FALSE data and make every effort to keep other scientists from questioning FALSE data. These two groups are, in large part, Democrats and part of the Obama administration.
The Panty Bomber (Christmas Bomber) and how his actions were treated by the Hussein administration shows that they have no capacity for dealing with terrorism. These people remind me of the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. Of the 8 German saboteurs dropped off on Long Island by a submarine and captured, 7 were executed and one got 30 years by the U.S. military. And this bomber is given civil rights (the same as an American), a lawyer, and was read his Miranda Rights. With Eric Holder’s record of getting 16 FALN terrorists and a master criminal pardoned – if this is not enough for all Americans to insist on his firing, I really don’t know what would be enough. I don’t mean the mainstream media will feel that way, as they are part of this administration. I am referring to all CARING Americans who should loudly call for Eric Holder to be REPLACED or Hussein to be IMPEACHED!
